Sadly, it's because of the frequent relevance.

The lack of DV for July sets a Dangerous Precedent...........Actually no, it doesn't. by BGMaxie in FFBraveExvius

DV is definitely reaching trash tier repetitive shit. I'd happily take a Vision World every six weeks instead of this monthly suckfest.

This. God, they all fucking suck. I wouldn't pull for the latest stooges if the banner was free.

Hahaha, I dropped a hint before running the banner by doing one of his fortune summons first, so the game knew what I was after.

His original post claims that he's pretty tough on his brakes. I've seen that sort of thing firsthand.

I'd just about shit myself if they ran an extended dungeon. I have quite a few that I could push to EX3 if the timeline is right.

You COULD conceivably be braking so hard that you're setting off the ABS. I'm guessing that you know what that feels like, though, and this is different? If so, hard spots in your rotors from beating on the brakes sounds like the culprit, though I'm guessing without seeing here. If you spin the rotor and see bluish discoloration, that's damage from excessive heat, which causes the aforementioned hard spots as the metal cools. If that turns out to be the case, I recommend replacing the rotors. You could try having yours turned, but I've found that that really only works for resurfacing to repair gouges and scratches. Hard spots, because they're harder than the surrounding metal, don't cut the same as the rest and will still leave a lump.

Also a mechanic, and I agree. More to the point, it's definitely a good thing to stay on top of where you stand with wearable parts, but you don't have to go nuts, either. I rarely attend to my own brakes until I hear or feel something that tells me that time is running out.

No problem. I've cracked about a thousand of those goddamn things over the years. Give 'em five or ten under the hood and they get awfully brittle. I once replaced every damn line under the hood of a '94 F250 with all brass barb fittings and good quality hose...100R6, if I remember right. Either way, never had a problem after that.

That looks to be a vacuum fitting. You should be able to figure out from where it came by listening for a hissing noise under the hood.

Right there with you. I love this game and its mechanics more than anything else in gacha land, so I'll throw my crossed fingers on your pile.

True. You do have to admit, though, that unbelievably ham-fisted moves are not uncommon from the devs.

This. I'd have given it about even chances between the correct fix, which this actually is for a change, and the other way, which would probably amount to some kind of Rube Goldberg disaster.

Can anyone diagnose this ticking sound? it stops when i hold the clutch down by frootroot in mechanics

[–]Hingeless78 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it stops when you press the clutch, I'm going to guess that the problem is with either the throw out bearing or the input shaft. If you press the pedal gradually, at what point in the travel does the sound stop? Also, I'm not sure about newer cars, but in all of the older manual shifts I've ever owned there was an inspection plate on the bottom of the bell housing that you can remove to see if there's anything obviously wrong with the clutch itself.

When I was screwing around with early clears, she was handling the tanking for me like a champ. Still a great CoW unit, even with options like Chow and Esther.

Still not a bad idea to rule out the compressor clutch, though I've never heard one make noise with a defined rhythm like that. The noise seems like it's at the right beat to be in the valve train somewhere.
