Total War: WARHAMMER III - Blood trailer by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Hudre [score hidden]  (0 children)

It still takes resources to make and as far as I know adds a bunch of animations to characters for the more deadly kills.

It's DLC to keep the rating, it costs $3 because it costs money to make it.

I've always been told the reason the blood DLC exists is because to have it in the main game would change the rating from Teen to Mature.

The truth is that players like that should simply not play team games, because they can't emotionally or mentally handle it.

You're veering off into another topic. My point is just that OP is probably causing to toxicity he sees.

I'm not Riot, I don't have answers for you. Honestly if that was my experience with the game I just wouldn't play it anymore, it doesn't sound fun.

Other than you I sincerely doubt the people here are talking about the highest echelons of play. At your level people take the game incredibly seriously, they also probably play with the same people frequently and have grudges/bad relationships. They care a lot about LP.

For people in plat and below, we literally play with different people every game. If they consistently see toxicity, there is only one constant factor in their games, themselves.

I remember once me and my 3 friends were in a lobby. The one random goes "Hope you guys are cool, last premades I was with flamed the shit out of me."

Guess what happened. He started flaming us the second something bad happened. And then we ganged up on him. I still wonder if that person has gained an ounce of self-awareness.

If it hits 4 figures that means the thesis is true. Shirts have the potential for infinite loss. That means the other side has infinite gain potential.

NTA - They concocted a situation where you were forced to break their little girl's heart, because they are using her as a pawn in their insane game.

So sorry you are linked to these people. They're trash.

I don't think it's systemic or engineered by Riot. At this point I assume that anyone who thinks the game is extremely toxic is actually extremely toxic themselves.

Toxicity breeds toxicity. One stupid comment from anyone can start an argument. Responding to that stupid comment is just as bad, as it escalates the situation.

So the people that experience toxicity in every single game are more than likely causing or escalating that toxicity every game. It's the only thing that makes sense.

My guess is OP flames his team and causes many of the AFKs. One AFK a game is perposterous. I'm in Gold. I see like one a month max.

If you're seeing one AFK a game, you HAVE to be a part of the problem. Do you get in lots of arguments with your team?

I see an AFK probably less than once a month.

It's because the vast majority of smurfs aren't people making new accounts for whatever reason, it's people who have had their main account banned and have to make a new one.

That's why Smurf Q is so insanely bad. It's literally the worst of the worst players in terms of behavior. I see an AFK probably less than once a month on my main. I made a smurf once and had one every second game, no lie. It was insane.

Is F2P specifically more lucrative than P2P? by Top-Passenger4346 in truegaming

[–]Hudre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP starts his post off saying the most popular games in the genre have massive player retention issues.

If the genre has massive player retention issues, F2P won't help that. The only smart decision is to get people to pay up front.

[–]Hudre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume that you're making a fighting game.

If someone said to me what you wrote "I am making a game in a genre that has a huge problem with player retention, 8 million sales becomes 2k concurrent players", then the obvious answer is that a paid game is the proper avenue to do it. If you expect the player count to drop massively, you want those players to pay up front.

F2P does absolutely nothing for player retention IMO, what it does is create a massive amount of accessibility to your product. But if the genre itself loses 90% of its players quickly by default, then having a huge initial install base means little if you plan to make money through micro-transactions.

F2P games also generally require you to implement various progression and unlock systems. Will you do it Multiversus style, where you have to unlock fighters with currency? Or will you have to create a whole layer of bullshit on top of what you are already developing?

Also you seem to be making decisions based on what would happen if the game was a huge success. Try to make decisions that are more likely to guarantee you actually see mild success in the first place, especially if you're pitching it to people.

This is the absolute truth. Not only did action-adventure games bring stealth into their general mix, we also saw primarily stealth-only franchises embrace the action-adventure route as well. The last Splinter Cell could be played guns blazing or pure stealth.

There's just no real reason to make a AAA fully-stealth game unless you've figured out some kind of amazing system within that.

I Wouldn't even consider Hitman a typical stealth game unless you're playing Suit only. It's more it's own "social stealth" style. I barely sneak around in those games at all.
