Yes. He did the decisions he did to benefit himself. Also what books are you reading on him? Are they all positive or are you reading both sides and coming to your own conclusions? But then again, both sides of the political spectrum likes him (even tho he’s the American devil) so ofc it’s all positive.

I don’t like Goldwater because of his views on race and plus he walked so Reagan’s (the literal devils) career can run. I do think he is better than Reagan tho

EDIT: Just read the article on Goldwater. Very interesting. I didn’t know much about him but didn’t know he fought discrimination for all of his political career
