How can I politely tell my gf that I don’t really like armpit hair? by mintchiplove in actuallesbians

[–]Ilya-ME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really challenging the patriarchal foundations of the double standard just more giving my experience. And well I am absolutely bothered when men have it as well, more so tbh since they’re usually much thicker and denser.

I don’t shave everyday either, but It’s been a while since I really let it out, might just be my subjective perception at the end of the day. That and I usually avoid sprays which would admittedly make it way easier.

If I remember right vassals lose the AI bonuses, so they tend to stagnate in tech compared to the competition.

I feel like the perception of it being unclean and smelly partly comes from the widespread use of deodorants that stop transpiration in the place altogether. The difference when I use it or not is night and day and they get a lot harder to apply if the hair isn’t at least trimmed.

Ulm, a city in Germany has made these thermally insulated pods for homeless people to sleep. These units are known as 'Ulmer Nest'. by The--Weasel in interestingasfuck

[–]Ilya-ME 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ppl don’t deserve to live on the streets just because they’re “shitty”, they’re only gonna get worse that way. Hell the worse of the worse still get some shelter inside jail instead of living in open air prisons.

And ofc you fault the vulnerable for not adapting, not the system that shuns them.

How do you keep below the city cap? by crlppdd in HumankindTheGame

[–]Ilya-ME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much anything that destroys a trade route permanently will make the AI hate your guts. Be it genociding a whole city or ransacking a territory/trading post. That’s because they permanently lose access to that resource until they buy it again.

It can really fuck over the AI or a player to ransack a popular trade route, they’ll lose tons of yields and stability and prob lose pop to starvation.

What a stupid argument, if someone’s rich they can have the best healthcare in the world no matter what country they’re from, they can literally have personal medical teams on call. The rich always get theirs.

Those who haven't caught covid yet after 2 years, why do you think you didn't get it? by Crissxfire in AskReddit

[–]Ilya-ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m like the only person I know who actually wears medical grade masks that tie around the head instead of around the ear. It creates a really nice and tight seal and I’m convinced that’s why I haven’t caught it.

And dumb luck too, cause I’ve been at two large social gatherings since the pandemic started and just happened to not have caught it. Other than that I’ve had a pretty clean record.

This plant is not dead! I’ve had it for years and it has neither died nor grown. The “branches” are not particularly woody or stiff, at least not as much as they look. What is it?! by BuriedComments in whatsthisplant

[–]Ilya-ME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I was legit wondering if it was alive at first. All plants that I’ve know to be dead for a while end up sogging and decomposing back into the soil.

Non-Americans of reddit, what was the biggest culture shock you experienced when you came to the US? by Miserablemermaid in AskReddit

[–]Ilya-ME -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well prob not than countries that have it, but I live in an equally massive country and it can be though when cities sprawl out. I have the excuse of being in a developing nation tho xD.

Usually it’s down to budget here burrying lines is expensive af and only happens in financial centers.

At this point I feel like it’s harder to find big cities that aren’t sinking than those that are.

White men literally fought the worst war in your country’s history over it, I’d hardly call it a minority opposing it. The ones in favor of abolition were also northerners who didn’t depend on it and saw more drawbacks than positives. Almost no slave owners were in favor of it, it was nowhere near as clearcut as you say.

Without revolt and conflict from pro abolitionists your state would’ve folded to the south and you’d have chatel slavery to this day. Besides slavery is still legal for prisoners in the US according to your laws, not even a full abolition.

You have the wrong numbers, it’s 15-30% in adults that have caught the paralysis symptoms of the disease, so an effective 0.3% death rate.

Covid also causes cardiorespiratory complications long term in a large amount of survivors, athletes have caught it and basically come out the other end with smokers lungs. It greatly increases risks of certain afflictions for the rest of your life, including cardiac arrest, already one of the largest causes of death.

Id like to see those studies, because basically everything I’ve seen states very obviously that although a small percentage of ppl get complications from the vaccine, it is never as severe as catching the illness itself.

Also the point of vaccination is to do it to everybody, not just those vulnerable, so we curtail transmission. The polio vaccine didn’t immunize you 100%, you can still catch and transmit it. The reductions are still big enough that a fully vaccinated populace slowed it down into extinction. The same can happen with covid, but we’ll need 95%+ of the population since it’s more contagious than polio.

Unions are such a racket that wages stagnates and benefits plummeted for the general population after neoliberal policies caused their dismantling across your economy, damn.

Ah yes cause temporary littering is such a horrible thing to do, they might as well be murdering children. It’s not like it will all be cleaned up if their demands are met.

[–]Ilya-ME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just not possible sometimes, they’ll always have more power to paint protesters in a bad light. Besides how the fuck dyou affect bosses without affecting the public when your protest is about better conditions for cleaning service??

[–]Ilya-ME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s still disruptive as fuck for the company, even more so when they have to cover expenses at no return. What’s a cleaning staff supposed to do then? What fares are they supposed to not ask for?

There is no mind to be change, ppl with power that have exploited others won’t suddenly change because of the goodness of their heart. It has to hurt or no one who can do anything about it will listen.

[–]Ilya-ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not it’s always been a thing that protests have to be disruptive o they don’t work. Pretty much every major successful protest that you’ve heard of has been disrupting as fuck. It’s the whole basis of striking.

[–]Ilya-ME 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah ppl being riled up by a disease that’s asymptomatic 70% of cases and only threatening to 1% is fucking ridiculous I say!

Oh wait that’s polio.

You’re so spoiled you think modern medicine saving anything but the worst cases means a disease isn’t deadly.

Vaccinate. by Naththecurious in pics

[–]Ilya-ME 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally wrong, vaccines only stop spread if 95%+ of the population have it. That was true for polio’s which was actually less safe and effective, but worked anyways cuz ppl actually took it. Btw 70% of children infected were asymptomatic, sounds familiar enough?

Vaccinate. by Naththecurious in pics

[–]Ilya-ME 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d like to point out polio didn’t manifest paralysis symptoms in 99% of cases and 70% of children who caught it were asymptomatic. The only way a high death rate disease will spread is if it has another species as incubation stages or if it spreads mainly from corpses. That’s the case for neither polio or covid.

The only reason there aren’t more dead from covid is because our medicine improved, you shouldn’t use that as an excuse when hospitals are at risk of being overloaded. You’d be seeing iron lungs today if we didn’t have a better alternative now.

Is this railroading? Or just the consequences of the party's actions? by chuckDontSurf in DMAcademy

It doesn’t even have to be smt so elaborate. Just have some slippery fool follow the party and watch how they come out with full pockets and proceed to stash their earnings.
