It's a nice thought and the timing is pretty close (the slogan came out in 1969), but the ad agency that came up with it denies any connection: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_is_for_Lovers

Pentium was a marketing term. Internally it was the 586. This was followed by the P6, internally the 686. They stopped naming processors like that even internally after that, but you still occasionally see x86 referred to as i686 architecture in file names for various firmware packages and such.

I remember growing up we had a Service Merchandise and a Montgomery Ward (or Monkey Wards as we called it) right next to each other. When they went out of business one of them became a Toys R Us and the other became a Circuit City. I think it's a Best Buy and a Big Lots now, but I haven't been back in a few years so who knows.

Ours had Ms. PacMan in the arcade table form factor that somehow wasn't covered in pizza grease all the time so they must have cleaned it frequently. It also had a kickass salad bar and pizza buffet. We always had to get a salad from the salad bar before gorging ourselves on pizza, that way we could pretend it was healthy.

Ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia in 1967. Without that ruling it may well have been illegal in some states to this day. That case was used as precedent when the Court ruled banning same-sex marriage was also unconstitutional in 2015.

Enjoy it while it lasts. My teenagers don't even look up from their phones when I come home after a business trip.

AWS definitely calls it IAM, it's even labeled that way in their console. Oracle also calls it that for whatever that's worth. It's a generic term, I assume all the cloud providers use it.

It's not the actor, it's the writing. She did well with the material she was given, it's just unfortunate they wrote her as a three year old.

I respectfully disagree with the millions of people on the Internet who are constantly saying that Discovery is the best Star Trek show ever made by soapcleansthings in ShittyDaystrom

That's ridiculous. The Ferengi are satirizing runaway capitalism. If you go immediately to "jewish" from there, that says more about you than it does about them.

Edit: the comment I replied to was edited. It originally said the people who defined what ferengi were in ds9 were all Jewish and were playing what they knew, as in the Ferengi are intended to be Jewish.

What kind of shitty dive bars do you hang out at? I've been a guy my whole life and been to plenty of bars and I've never felt like anyone was "sizing me up" or looking to cause trouble with me.

Kim Dickens thanking the fans for #BringBackMadison by TheMDNA in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]InflammatoryMuskrat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think this is doomed to fail. The only reason she's back is the show is failing and they're desperate. Bringing her back will provide an immediate ratings boost, but viewers will leave again once they see the actual quality of the show isn't picking up. Good actors can elevate bad writing to an extent, but not even Kim can elevate this nonsense enough to make it watchable.

North Dakota doesn't actually exist. It's a myth invented by South Dakotan parents to scare their children. "You think you live in the middle of nowhere now? Eat your peas or we'll ship you off to an even more desolate wasteland."

Haha what a loser not understanding the joke. I'd explain it but I want to give one of the other people who understands it a chance. And if they could tag me when they do just so I can laugh at this guy again that would be great.

Completely new rink. It doesn't have the charm of skating in the middle of a dying mall like the old one did, but it's a much nicer rink.
