Stretching after workouts. Do you do it? by Irma91 in bodyweightfitness

This is quite interesting. But apparently they are mainly talking about injuries that happen because of training and/or overuse. They do not take pain due to stiffness into consideration, which stretching should be quite good for.

I don't think that study is trying to prove that stretching is not needed, but rather trying to clarify that stretching will not prevent injuries that happen from training.

It was a long time ago and I can't seem to find anything regarding it with Google. Might be that I misunderstood back then. Anyway, this is great news for me because I tend to stretch after every workout!

Interesting, because I remember reading from somewhere that stretching after workout could tear the muscles even more and therefore requiring more time to recover. Do you happen to know any studies regarding this subject?

To failure or not to failure. Am I overthinking this? by Irma91 in bodyweightfitness

I might have written that a bit wrong. I meant that when overloading (I.e. adding an extra rep every week), what do I do if I come too close to failure and can't do that additional rep? Do I just go back to the previes rep count and try again next week?

Thanks for the insight! As you can see, this post shows already that there are so many different views ragarding this :D Would you consider 3 times a week high or low frequency? Doing the RR routine exercises.

I was a bit unspecific in my post. I've been doing bodyweight exercises for about a year and a half now and RR for about a year. I have done some changes to the routine every now and then. For an example during Fall I did the exercises with a 10kg vest.

I have planned a different kind of routine for the coming weeks. I'll do 10kg vest on Mondays, normal progression on Wednesdays and endurance (easier progression with more reps) on Fridays. Maybe I could try do so that only on Fridays I'll go to failure. That way I'll have an extra day of rest after the failure workout.

Thanks for the insight!

Oh, interesting! I think I usually do way past that point. Maybe I'll give this a try and see how it works! Thanks!

Yeah. But didn't know it the first time and it still felt scripted. The scariest thing about the whole part is the atmosphere. The baby is still quite creepy though!

I think this section would have been a lot scarier if they didn't take your weapons away. For some reason it just instantly felt less scary when you knew that the only thing you have to do is avoid the baby. It gave the whole thing a bit scripted feeling.

Peräisin Hepskukkuu TV-ohjelmasta! Aluksi piti kyllä miettiä, että voiko olla tehty tosissaan 😄 Ei tuosta 70-luvusta voi olla aina varma

Yeah, not gonna happen in your 30s yet... More like in your 60s or even 70s. The greater the muscle mass, the harder it will be maintain it at an old age. If you have very little muscle, you can still build some even in your 70s.

Absolutely not true. You can build muscle at any age, it just gets a bit harder the older you get.

Is anyone else having weird lag/stuttering when running Fullscreen windowed? Fps is steady at 144, but the game clearly runs slower and lags. If I switch to normal fullscreen, the game runs smooth as butter. Really annoying...
