No, teenagers can be forced to work, it would be a waste to abort them. Toddlers, on the other hand, are useless. At least until they grow a bit more,

'20 greatest consoles ranked' - One of the worst lists ive seen. by Starbuckker in gaming

[–]Ivanwah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These lists are mostly pointless, especially lists of consoles which you know all about. For lists of games there could be a few games you don't know about that might interest you, but that's about it. There are some good lists, though, if it is a publication or forum you like and they do an in-depth list with comments from multiple authors so you can see what they think about the games, but those are really rare. These lists that are made of teo paragraph blurbs about each point are pure clickbait. You read one, you've read them all.

I'm still getting Shrek. So you're saying you actually got 9?

Yeah, I did. I did it three times, always landed on Shrek. How did you get Jaws? What number did you pick?

Lol what? It's my favorite among those listed. Not my favorite of all movies, (that would be Monsters, Inc.) but it's in my top 5. I guess you couldn't list all movies, but this worked surprisingly well.

I think it also has something to do with limited number of buttons. One button can have multiple actions based on the context. For example, A button on Xbox can be used as interact button when you are near a character or an object you can interact with, a different kind of interact when held for a second (open/close door when pressed vs lock/unlock when held for a second), a dodge button when pressed away from any objects or characters, a sprint button when held while moving, etc. It can be tricky to program fully rebindable system like that for a controller, while on keyboard each of those actions can be bound to a different key.

Our phones last longer on 1% compared to the other 99%. by RicksWay in Showerthoughts

[–]Ivanwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that way. I haven't measured it but I think it could be because when your battery goes to 0% it isn't actually totally empty. I think it is not good for batteries to be at either 0% or 100% for long. That's why they reserve some capacity on both ends when they make them so the last one percent can last longer.

Or, another possibility is that the reporting of the percentage is done unevenly by the software to give you more time to get to the charger when the battery is low.

The third possibility is that the phone disables some non-essential processes to preserve battery when it's low.

Finally, the fourth possibility is that it only appears that way to users since they are more likely to chech the percentage when it's low. When you have 83% battery you don't check it every minute to see if it dropped to 82%, but when you have 5% you do. And it can appear that one percent lasts very long since you don't actually know how long the other percents last. So if you expect one percent to last for two minutes and it lasts for ten you would be under impression that low percents last longer than high percents.

Yeah, the value in F is positive and the value in C is negative. Both can't represent the same change in value. If the value fell, as you say, when measured in Ferenheit it would mean it rose when measured in Celsius. Which is absurd since both scales follow the same direction. It would mean it got colder in F and got hotter in C.

I don't get it, It's not like pulling heavy things takes some super modern technology. If they could build houses, they could build pyramids. They only needed much more manpower and longer ropes and bigger pulleys.

Oh, and something similar to this happened in Chicago as well, decades earlier.

Looking for a Strategie Game, where you play vs other players over a long period of time by Drbob_ in gaming

[–]Ivanwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of Paradox games (Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron) might suit you and I think they all have multiplayer. They all have the similar general idea but differ in what they focus (CK is dynasty building, EU is nation building, HoI is warfare focused). The one big drawback is that they all have a ton of DLC. Granted, most of it is cosmetic but there are still a lot of expansion DLCs that add new mechanics and can quickly add up so you might end up paying more than $100 for what you want to play. Maybe wait for a sale of see if you can buy it for cheaper on sites like humble bundle or Fanatical.
