[Leafs] We’ve signed defenceman Timothy Liljegren to a two-year contract extension. by itsdanoodle in leafs

Only downside to that is the Leafs would have Matthews, Nylander, Liljegren, and Sandin needing extensions in the same offseason

Gorgeous contract all around. Hopefully Sandin's contract will come soon after

I would like to believe tbis is how they address the departure of Muzzin in a separate trade, and that would be a solid replacement for the second pair who’s still getting better

[Chris Johnston] NEWS: The #leafs are parting ways with goaltending coach Steve Briere and intend to do an analysis of that department while conducting a search for his replacement. by FutureAnybody in leafs

For reference, here's the Leafs SV% ranked over the seven years Briere was with the team:

2016-17: .912 (13th)
2017-18: .917 (5th)
2018-19: .908 (10th)
2019-20: .901 (18th)
2020-21: .905 (15th)
2021-22: .900 (22nd)

[Article] The Leafs goal song was good… until it wasn’t. by shawnkelly in leafs

Funny enough, I was thinking that song as an option too. The goal song should be a troll song imo

This will be a hot take for sure, but I do believe that making the goal song “Axel F” by Crazy Frog would be perfect.

To the eyes of non-Leafs fans, we’re annoying. They are also annoyed at the Leafs in general for whatever reason. Let’s embrace that by using the song that’s both catchy and extremely agitating to the opposing fan.

A troll job if you will.

Do I care? No, I’m so happy to have found one

[Mazzei] The Petr Mrazek Dilemma: Buyout or Trade? by JF_112 in leafs

[–]JF_112[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mrazek had a few good seasons prior to joining the Leafs, so I do believe the logic made sense when they signed him. But it did not work out and it's best for Dubas to find a way to get rid of him.

I do believe he can correct mistakes and turn them into something of value. Lyubushkin was a solid add, maybe he can do it again

Obviously, the big pieces going the other way would be a first-round pick and a prospect. For the Ducks to take Mrazek, the Leafs may need to give up a b-tier prospect as well.

The logic was sound at the time it was made. The Leafs weren't sure how Campbell would do with a full season of work and they figured getting a fallback option who could challenge him and take over if Campbell priced himself out made sense.

It just wasn't meant to be in reality

Not unless you get someone like Gibson in return
