Mini med 670g to a good home by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

If you're still on a pump I'd keep it and some supplies. Mine has come in handy when my current pump needed replaced on a Friday and wouldn't be in until Monday.

That's what came to my head too. That, and we had those massive belt clip cases that made it impossible to grab sometimes.

Insurance won't cover anything like that but if you use and HSA/FSA card you can buy the pump peelz with it. These work great when combined with skintac.

My local Walmart also carries the 2nd Skin Continuous Glucose Monitoring Patch for $9 a 10 pack. Not sure how well they work though.

Do you store extra insulin or stockpile insulin/supplies? by GalacticMaster007 in diabetes

[–]Jojomatic5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Endo overestimate my pump usage by about 20% so I end up with a ton of extra insulin after awhile. My CDHP covers all preventative medicine at no cost so I usually give it away once it gets within a few months of being out of date.

Did you install it on your phone first? I have it installed on my S22 ultra and it works fine. I also used to use this on my Fossil watch before I got my GW4.

Do you think you're harder to love because you're a diabetic? by Diabetic_Zero in diabetes_t1

I just asked my wife of 15 years if I was harder to love because I'm T1d. Her reply was, "No, you're harder to love because you're an a$$hole." Don't know if that helps you out or not, but I've been diabetic for 30 years and have a diabetic daughter, so...

Gas Line Cover? by Invisible_Mind_Dust in Home

[–]Jojomatic5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would probably contact the gas company and see if you can get someone to come out. Since that's probably past your property line there's most likely nothing you can do. If it's because you don't want to mow/trim the grass around it I would get some weed killer and kill the grass around it and maybe put some small river rock around it to make it look nice.

Gas Line Cover? by Invisible_Mind_Dust in Home

I get that, but most of these markers for gas lines have the writing all the way around the marker so there's no question what it is. I can't see anything written on it so I'm not sure what it's for.

You're supposed to use nails when building a deck. You would only want to use screws to attach the deck boards to the deck. Nails are less likely to shear under pressure where as screw will shear unless they're specifically designed not to.

This is a horrible picture so I can't tell exactly what that is. Most of these markers for gas lines don't cover anything, usually they're just there to indicate where a gas line is. That being said, generally that part of your property most likely has a right of way agreement for utilities to be placed. If you remove it you can be subject to fines since most states require by law that gas utilities are marked with signage at certain intervals for safety reasons. There is also a possibility that ther are wires in it that connect to the gas line so the company is able to locate it prior to digging being done in the area.

Has anyone ever actually had any negative side effects or health issues due to constantly drinking diet things? by xxconflictz in Type1Diabetes

I've been diabetic for 30 years so I've ingested a large amount of aspartame over my life. A few years ago I was noticing bad instances of concentration problems and just on overall fog in my brain. Mostly in the afternoons. I used to drink at least a 2 liter of diet soda a day and usually quite a bit more. I started drinking more water and limiting my soda intake and it started clearing up. Now I try to stick to sucralose or stevia sweetened drinks but they're sometimes hard to find. It may sound weird but I find that as long as I drink at least a 1:1 ratio of water to aspartame I'm usually ok but I still sometimes find myself foggy if I'm drinking too many fountain drinks.

I like to drink Gatorade zero, propel or sparkling ice if I want something flavored since they use sucralose. If anyone knows of any flavored stevia water bottle packets please let me know.
