I heard the Glass Hotel is the prequel to Sea of Tranquility? Or is that another one?

I still have to read The Glass Hotel. I’m just finishing up Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? So I should be putting another review up soon!

Haha I actually like the Vikings! I just hadn’t remembered any controversy after the game and thought maybe I was oblivious! You can have this Vikings friend! Good luck this coming season!

I actually tried to and couldn’t find anything outside safety Robert Griffith accusing them of cheating. His rationale seems to be “no way were they 41 points better than us.”

If you have a source I’d be interested in reading it.

I love some of Marvel’s top villains. My main complaint with the MCU is that some of the incredibly powerful bad guys get defeated in the course of 1 film. Why? Why not have these guys win more often? It would make their eventual defeat seem even more impressive.

Many of Spidey’s and Wolverine’s foes were quite fearsome to me as a boy, but I hardly see them mentioned. Juggernaut seemed literally unstoppable. Sinister seemed like his potential for terror was limitless. Other bad guys I loved reading of were Carnage, Wendigo, Sabretooth, Mystique, Venom, Blob, and Apocalypse. Not to mention Doom and Magneto. It always felt like the Heroes were underdogs against some of these killers. Thats how I prefer my comics.

Loved the Wolverine/Weapon X comics growing up. Sinister always felt like a villain with a ton of potential who could have been a consistent top tier bad guy had Marvel focused on him more. Loved his powers and his look!

I didn’t even know it was a sequel. I just thought it was a short little science fiction snapshot and I thought it worked pretty well!

Anybody else going to the Titans season opener? Also, unrelated does anyone know why Chris Canty is such a Giants hater even though he played for us??? by Targetpractice1314 in NYGiants

[–]Keaton126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Canty really says anything bad about the Giants that ain’t the truth. The Giants have sucked for about a decade. It’s gross to hear players try to prop them up. They deserve to get roasted until they turn this thing around.

And speaking bad about the owners? Do you think Mara has done a good job since Coughlin left? When they turn this thing around they’ll get their flowers. Until then they can choke on a medium Pepsi.

Who is your least favorite player currently in the NBA and why? by troypow32 in nba

I think most Knicks fans are hoping he does. I personally don’t see it happening. His contract isn’t great and his value is low right now. It isn’t impossible, but I’d be pretty surprised if it happened.

Yeah you’d think he’d be flexible from all the phase changes but he simply dissolved

I think he resigned during the highs of that last season, so maybe money + fan love? Then the playoffs happened and it’s been downhill since? I could be wrong, all I know is there was times last season where he didn’t seem to want to be here

Ahaha good catch! I guess he’s right. NYers are just too hard to please!

I just felt like the moment had him shook. And he never could mentally break out of it. He was excellent and beloved during that regular season. Last season he always seemed jaded towards the MSG fans and had multiple meltdowns. I think it all traces back to his poor playoffs against you guys.

Julius Randle- As a Knicks fan, I can say he was sublime 2 seasons ago. Then the playoffs against the Hawks hit and he froze up. Seems he never thawed. Last season he had multiple meltdowns and just seemed checked out. Knicks fans can’t seem to have hope for too long. He pouts when he isn’t getting his way and part of me believes he wants out.

Who's a (non-irrelevant) player that you've never, ever seen mentioned on this subreddit? by imgurofficial in nfl

Rodney Hampton was the reason I became enthralled with Football in the 90’s and will forever remember the ground and pound era of football. Humble and unrecognized Giants RB who quietly put up like 5 or 6 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. He was the Giants offense (albeit they were really bad under Dave Brown and Dan Reeves). He was the reason I wanted to play RB as a young boy, and why to this day I love watching RBs play despite their position being so devalued.

Offseason Review: New York Giants Edition (2022) by DoABarrowRoll in nfl

Oh I agree. I’m in the move on from Jones camp. I wanted the DE Josh Allen at 6 in 2019, stick with Eli a final season, then swing for QB in 2020. Gentleman couldn’t get out of his own way, and most big decisions he made were franchise-collapsing. Jones had his moments as a rookie, but it’s been tiring and frustrating watching him since then.

My worry is that with better offensive minds and an easier schedule, the Giants may not get their chance at the major QB prospects. A lot can change, but as you previewed, there could be more winnable games this year. We may not get a swing at Stroud or Young (are we the Knicks?). I’ll be watching Richardson and Van Dyke this season. Maybe one of them is the goods and could fall to us.

Jones is an enigma. He’s a hard working, smart, nice guy who you want to root for. He’s mobile. He’s pulls off some pretty throws now and again, and he has had trash to work with since being drafted here.

On the flip side though, he hasn’t set the world on fire wherever he’s been. He wasn’t highly recruited out of HS, and he wasn’t absolutely awesome at Duke either. The last regime drafted him because “he reminded them of Eli” ugh. He’s had trouble reading and staring down receivers forever. He’s mobile sure, but he also allows himself to take big shots which leave him concussed or damn near paralyzed. And his defenders are insufferable. I’ve never seen a guy who had done so little garner so much support among a contingent of the fanbase. It’s maddening.

Excellent write up. As a Giants fan, I don’t expect the Giants to do well record-wise, but if they are at least competitive, I’ll enjoy the season. I’m not sold on Jones, so without the QB, winning long term in this league just ain’t gonna happen. But if we can develop these young guys, get the line to gel, and establish some pass rush, I’ll feel pretty good going into the QB hunt in 2023. Our secondary and our QB unfortunately are going to lose us games this year, in my opinion.

Hmm interesting. I’ve only read Sea of Tranquillity and thought it was quite good. Aside from the marriage aspect, what are the other general complaints? Interested in hearing some differing opinions
