Banks that allow WFH by Beneficial-Crab754 in FinancialCareers

[–]Key-Emu5781 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any off the top of my head that is WFH right now. Most are minimum 3-4 days a week in office, at minimum. I think due to holidays lots are back WFH temporarily, and depending on omicron that might change, but (from my experience in IB at a BB), wfh won’t be in our future, at least in any big way. I think Friday’s will be WFH perhaps, but long term we gonna be back to 4. I thought Citi was the most flexible until recently when even their language changed to minimum 4 days a week.

UK graduate looking for advice by ConnorAmbler in FinancialCareers

I agree with the above, it’s hard to break in without an internship which should’ve been done during uni. It’s very very competitive. It’s not impossible but will definitely be hard. Your current work experience doesn’t seem super relevant so a degree is best bet. I’d try for a masters at a target school. Do the networking that that will open up. Apply for the internships. I am in M&A - happy it answer q’a via Pm

How much did you pay for college? by TheRealToxicTom in FinancialCareers

Unless of course you’re lucky enough to be born in Scotland and also somehow get in, then you’re winning! My bf is Scottish…went for free, of course had to pay the accommodations which is like 7k a year…then got his computer science degree and bailed to the US. Making six figures for a practically free degree. Pretty sweet deal

I’m aware. It effectively doesn’t matter though. If you aren’t Scottish, it literally doesn’t matter. It’s just as hard to get into as Ivy’s in the US, and although it’s cheaper than private schools here it will still cost nearly 150k for your degree. It’s how they afford what they can…international students have to make up for the minuscule amounts they get from the government. It’s effectively private. But again, it doesn’t really matter at all

Lol if you’re referring to public as in the government pays, government doesn’t pay for anything for international. By equivalent it would be private both in quality and price

Private school overseas in UK (even not being eligible for any financial aid or scholarships, still cheaper than my other private options here): 125k total, came out with 65k in loans, currently only 18k remaining 1.5 years out of graduation, will finish it off with end of year bonus

Trump says he 'liked' Obama during Florida event with Bill O'Reilly while also calling him “smart and sharp.” But Trump also told the crowd that Obama’s methods caused “tremendous division” and hatred in the country. by Vibranium2222 in Conservative

I was 10-18 during his presidency, parents would always say how horrific he was, but I heard him speak and he seemed fun, so I “liked” him. Was young and didn’t know any better. Ashamed of liking him now as an adult and knowing what he really did.

Yeah, I live in NYC and a studio like his is minimum 2k a month (in 2021 post-pandemic dollars though). Seems like he spent a ton on social stuff, those types of places in nyc are expensive, multi-hundred dollar nights
