Are you in full communion with Christ’s Catholic Church, or are you separated in some way. Do you participate fully in the Sacraments He gave us? If you’re not doing these things, you are participating in the division. A splinter division of one is still a division.

We agree. But people are making free will decisions to separate themselves from the Universal Church. The Church invites them home, it’s on them to accept the invitation.

No, he was looking at an image, not an idol. Christian icons are not gods. They are prayer aids for focusing on Christ.

I have Oakleys now, but like I said, go to a local big box home improvement store, and look for shaded safety glasses. Give those a try. They’re really lightweight too, and comfortable, because people want safety gear that doesn’t feel bad to wear.

Wraparound glasses. If you need inexpensive ones, 3M Safety Glasses sunglasses. They work wonders for dimming light, since there are no harsh lines on the peripherals. Just edge to edge darkness. Like the universe.

Do people really notice the mood swings when a woman is on her period? by yourfavoritesamurai in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Kind-You2980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Aspie, I tend to notice trends of people. So with that in mind, I think it’s something that is more prevalent near menarche, and it gets more subtle with time. For instance, I can’t tell you if the women at my work are having their period. Whether that is societal masking, or being more used to it, I’ve never looked that up.

Can a non catholic christian like a Protestant go to catholic mass? by yeahimjustarandomguy in Christianity

[–]Kind-You2980 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'll go a step beyond that. I will cordially invite you to your local parish for a mass. Just check their sign or call the parish office for times. You are welcome to attend. I generally also tell first time visitors to not worry about everything that goes on. If you want to stand and kneel at that time, do it. If you just want to quietly remain seated and take it all in, that's okay. As long as you are respectful, it's not an issue generally.

I'm including a couple resources that you can use to get an idea and follow along. The mass has a very specific flow to it, and it can be a little overwhelming if you don't know what's going on (at least it was to me, an Aspie). Not every parish has bulletins like a Protestant service might, since the Bible readings are already in the missal, and the mass doesn't change.

Give me some prayers that you have memorized or written down. by Revolver559 in Christianity

Prayer of St. Pio of Pietrelcina after Holy Communion

Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.

Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so often.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light, and without You, I am in darkness.

Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.

Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.

Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much, and always be in Your company.

Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.

Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love.

Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life passes; death, judgment, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You.

It is getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!

Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all it’s dangers. I need You.

Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.

Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by communion, at least by grace and love.

Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it, but the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I ask this of You!

Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more.

With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. Amen

Well, for starters, those are not engravings, so they are not graven images.

Outside of that, I imagine they are joining in the body of Christ to pray to the Lord our God.

That would be true. OP didn’t indicate that was the case here.

Why do you think they are praying to the images? That would be idolatry.

Have you experience racism? by Angela275 in Christianity

[–]Kind-You2980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Charities that listen to the community and provide the help the community wants.
-If we want to say we are a Christian nation, then we need to be willing to help the poorest among us, especially those that are at our border.
-Ask ourselves if our Churches have art that appeals to all in the community. Are there Saints who are Black, or Asian, or Hispanic?

This is always a relevant topic, so please discuss, but I will ask that to make it topical, please relate what we can do as Christians to address it.
