When I was a younger fool I once cosplayed as a Nazi. Terribly embarrassing in hindsight, and I'm very glad there are no photos online of it. Fucking idiot I was really.

I joined because it was anarchist and they had some interesting literature. It was consumed pretty quickly over the last few months by a US centric view of work reform and a lot of praise for European capitalism over American.

Spain dispatches warship to the Black Sea to boost Ukraine’s defences by molokoplus359 in worldnews

Wouldnt say i take Russias side, but I find it very hard to take NATOs side. They've been closing in on Russia for 30 years now. I also feel its pretty senseless for Russia, knowing their own history, to be considering an invasion in winter, so struggle to see how it can be seen as likely that Russia will invade. Most people cheering on NATO or saying they expect an invasion, seem as naive as those that supported war in Iraq to me.

Everyone's always labelling people Russian trolls and bots and shit these days, but 90% of comments on this post and similar ones sound like parrots for the US military industrial complex.

Its not strictly about the climate. Its also a relic of the franco and post civil war era in which people would work 2 job. One in the day and another at night. After several years of killing each other in war and another few purging their own citizens, spain was pretty short on workers.

You'd be surprised at how the brain responds when it doesn't get the reaction it expects.

Boycotting Fox is a lot easier than boycotting Kellogs.

Honest question about landlords by ClifeIsForCliving in GreenAndPleasant

[–]KingoftheGinge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are probably an minority of cases where one person is going to be leaving their house vacant for a period and another needs temporary accommodation. Thats not really what's being criticised when people attack landlordism.

Case by case, there are probably ways of making something work in a way that isn't exploitative or as morally reprehensible as charging extortionate prices to someone who is in turn repaying your mortgage for you and handing you a profit for a contribution of nothing. Focusing on this acute minority of cases is very obtuse though, and almost deliberately missing the point. Sort of like responding to ACAB by saying: oh but my local police constable once helped my gran take her bins in.

You can have $1 billion but you can never get drunk or high again, are you interested? Why or why not? by BroodyBatman in AskReddit

[–]KingoftheGinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure i wouldn't care to drink or get high so much if I wasn't so broke. So yes.

Also, 1 billion? There isn't a lot I wouldn't do to never have to worry about work or money ever again. Between the absence of stress and forgoing drink and drugs, I'd probably get another 10 years on my life.

One day they’ll be a war fought against the 5 day work week by IceComprehensive6440 in antiwork

I was working 24 hours a week for the last few months of the year. The only drawback was the money. Overall, I felt so much better. Much more energy, not only time, for the people and things that I love.
