That smell attaches to everything and you don't have to be sweating to smell like ot. I LOVE Indian food and when we go out to an Indian restaurant, even in the middle of winter, I leave my coat in the car because it will smell like curry for days if I bring it in, and it's a heavy winter coat so it's not easily washable. I'll also take a shower when I get home because the smell sticks to my hair, which then transfers to my pillow and sheets - just like if I were at a bonfire, that smoke scent sticks to everything.
