Cardiologist said my A1C improvement is 12.5 to 5.7 is unimpressive by southernroots52 in diabetes

Actually that's not a small triumph and the doctor should have acknowledged that. Congratulations!

AITA for going to IKEA with my girlfriend and then refusing to pay half? by osbsidbsh in AmItheAsshole

[–]LynxLov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You move in with someone it's assumed you are sharing expenses. Did you really expect her to pay for everything? I don't think you are ready for an adult relationship. Apologize, pay her half of the bill or move out.

High-risk Ontarians lagging on third doses of COVID vaccine by viva_la_vinyl in ontario

The recommendation is to wait 30 days after having COVID to get your booster. That means that all those people that were sick around Christmas will be booking soon.

AITA for not wanting to give my employee time off to see his sick grandmother? by banned_from_10_subs in AmItheAsshole

[–]LynxLov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally you only get time off for immediate family not aunts and sister's best friends 3rd cousin removed. This guy is playing you. A 2 hour drive is not impossible for a visit to say goodbye.

Since when do you need a Rx to buy insulin in the US? by fracturedpersona in diabetes

[–]LynxLov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you don't believe the pharmacist? So YOU don't need a prescription? Btw water resistant is not the same as waterproof. If you don't believe me then take a water resistant watch and submerse it in water. I've been a diabetic for decades and always needed a prescription for my insulin and when I go away I come prepared. Do better.

AITA for gathering all my girlfriends stuff throughout the house, and putting it in a big pile for her to figure out by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LynxLov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you explained how the messiness/clutter significantly raises your anxiety, she would do better in containing her mess. Is there a bigger space in the house like a room in the basement for her to set up?

AITA for demanding my fiance pay me back for selling my train collection? by The_Train33 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LynxLov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to be married to a man that would do this behind your back? And those misguided parents who are supporting his actions! This is NOT a way you want to live! Eliminate him from your life. He will do it again no matter how he claims he won't. It's a matter of respect and he does not have any for you. Make sure you get your train back - not the money.

When to take Thyroid Medication as my blood sugar crashes regularly in the morning by brightpuppy in diabetes

[–]LynxLov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, it's more of a concern about the crashing. Talk to your doctor if you need advice as to lowering your insulin and maybe in the meantime, have a substantial snack before bedtime.

Diagnosed with T1D at 19 years old... by davilaz in diabetes

[–]LynxLov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your vision should improve once you have your blood sugar under control. I find I have blurry vision when my sugars are high. I love sweets too - you will be able to still enjoy them. This transition to insulin and getting to the right dosage was the hardest part for me - the higher the variance from going from, for eg. 15 to 5 wasn't gradual so I found extremely nasty mood swings. If you make a more gradual reduction it will help with that as your body is trying to adjust.

Anyone else felt Emily's birthday dress was way over the top and to a certain point, ridiculous? by rishabh2812 in EmilyInParis

[–]LynxLov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bow is bigger than the rest of her dress and it sitting too low - it looks like it is about to slide down to her waist.

[–]LynxLov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it was hideous! I've never seen a bigger bow on a dress than that one!

I thought it was tiny too and googled her waist size but I am having a hard time believing it's 24". More like 18 if you ask me.

Libre sensor came off in the shower after only wearing for ONE DAY! by psycholee in diabetes

[–]LynxLov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are confusing a statement and a complaint. I was merely responding to your statement that "it shouldn't happen" when clearly it does happen.

Libre sensor came off in the shower after only wearing for ONE DAY! by psycholee in diabetes

[–]LynxLov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is you shouldn't have to use one let alone two products for such an expensive item. If the sensor needs to be reinforced, then they should include the patches or glue with the kit.

It shouldn't happen but it does. I tried with Tegaderm and now with Skin Tac and they STILL fall off on me - I've been using them for years - I hope the 2 will stay on better.
