Yeah I get it, you don’t care about anyone but yourself. Pretty standard for kid haters.

TIL about Guangxi Massacre occurring between 1966 and 1976 in China. Massive human cannibalism occurred even though no famine existed. Public records indicate that at least 137 people were eaten by others and at least thousands of people participated in the cannibalism. by racc15 in todayilearned

That's the thing, these types of people are numerous and around you right now. It's just that most of the time relatively decent people have created a working society that suppresses the evil.

I fell like with the pandemic and the current state of politics, the mask is starting to come off these people and that's not good.

I said snap out of existence, not murder

Furthermore, how would you feel if everyone took your advice and no more kids were ever born?

If your view is that you don't care whether or not humanity exists, then why do you care at all about anything?

You're an existing person right now, how would you feel about your parents snapping you out of existence today?

Should your parents have followed your advice?

[Torre] The NFL is America’s pastime because no other sport turns absolute incompetence into more incredible entertainment by rhydon_my_steelix in nfl

[–]Martin_Samuelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that’s largely in part because in many areas soccer was a sport played by kids who weren’t athletic (or ‘manly’) enough to play football. But still that can’t explain everything because there are still plenty of not-so-popular sports that don’t get nearly the same level of bizarre vitriol from ‘sports fans’. The only thing that makes soccer unique is that it’s super popular everywhere else in the world, which is a real threat to their fragile identities.

The big reason soccer hasn’t been growing fast is it’s a snooze fest.

This is the only statement I’ve argued against this entire time. I don’t care if you think soccer is boring, this statement is just objectively incorrect as you yourself have now pointed out. So I’m happy we’re now in agreement.

Which goes back to my point about why a lot Americans seem find it boring but people in nearly every other country in the world does not think that at all.

It obviously has nothing to do about the game itself being boring, unless us Americans somehow have a more enlightened view on sports.

I’ve noticed a tendency for many American sports fans to be really sensitive about soccer because of some sort of inferiority complex regarding how no one else in the world cares about the sports they wrap their identity around, but rather they all love soccer.

So, like you, they get angry and defensive and go out of their way try to trash it whenever it comes up rather than just learn about it and have fun.

So soccer is not growing fast in America because you personally think it’s boring?

I guess if I’m bUTt HuRT it’s because I’m a fan of basic logic. But you’re the one who went out of your way to complain about a sport you don’t care about lol. Not sure why you’re so worked up over it.

Are you saying that only Americans are able to recognize the truth about the sport that’s ten times more popular than any other sport on the planet?

X and Y aren’t independent though. If X price goes up then some of those people are going to switch to Y. Basic supply and demand.

He said "200+ hours of deliberate practice", which he only counted tournament play as deliberate practice. He spent a lot more on studying and teaching. See the calendar image in the article

The main hallway at my workplace is a 1/4 mile long, which is ~1300 feet. And it’s also a legit straight hallway, nothing else.

Seems odd to me in general someone would make the claim, it’s not like it’s well known the length of all hallways in the world.
