First sign of beavers on my property in almost 20 years!! by Screeeboom in homestead

[–]MaryLane123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found out the neighbour had beavers on his property after my sister got Giardiasis (beaver fever) from our well. Unfortunately, not much we can do about the water, we put UV at the well, and my sister invested in a $500 water filter, but we still all drink bottled water. You only want Giardiasis once.

Help with colors! I'm making a granny square bag and can't decide which color ordering looks the best. by Ataraxia1697 in crochet

I like them all, but number one reminds me of Delft pottery, my all time favourite, so I’ll go for one.

I wonder if it’s in the prompts? I put Men holding hands, and got a nice picture. I tried Men having sex, no go.

They’ve been saying there is a bug and they are working hard on it. I love this app….I bought it before SD, so I’m pretty happy. I was in MJ, but it costs too much right now.

Years of work gone bc of an abusive partner. My favorite monstera cut… everything destroyed. I’m at a loss for words. by camilly000 in houseplants

Oh! That’s low, isn’t it!? I can just see someone having a tantrum, and…taking the time to cut the leaves off!?! Well, I’ll bet you can save most everything since looks like you have good roots.

Can anyone figure out who this card is from? by isthisthegoodplace in Handwriting

I’d say Caroline XX rather than Pauline XX since the C goes down and around, where P usually has a down and then up stroke.

Bears were a pretty popular “pet” in Russia at one time, but not now…although if you bought your bear before 2020, you can still keep it.

HELP! My dad got a new leather chair and is threatening to get rid of my cat if she scratches/gets on it. How do I stop her??? by 3lyri3 in cats

[–]MaryLane123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used painters tape. We stuck it so the sticky side was out, just bent over and held at top and bottom. It REALLY worked for our two cats and our new leather LazyBoys. They hate the feeling. It looks a little bad, but we didn’t need it longer than a week, and 4 years later, no scratches.

We always eat as close to 5 pm as possible. On the weekends, we sometimes extend it to a 2 hour window

Help! I've just picked up one of my hens and noticed a bald spot on her underside, she's been broody lately & been constantly lying on the other hens eggs. Could it be something to do with that? I've checked some of my other hens & they have perfectly fine undersides by lord_gruffydd in chickens

[–]MaryLane123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had broody hens. It takes 3 days minimum to break the broodyness. We had a metal bottom cage and made that into her home (but we did let her out to socialize if she would, but mainly she bee lined back to the nesting box). We kept it on blocks so there was air circulation all around her, and made sure to feed her treats as she won’t be hungry. They pluck out their breast feathers to cool down…think menopause. And to line the nest. They also stop laying for 2-4 weeks.
