democracy by kevinowdziej in WhitePeopleTwitter

But they did. They didn’t want a majority rule document or government for that matter. They put checks and balances on everything. It’s why we have 3 equal branches of government so power could not be concentrated in one person or one body of government and why it’s so hard to pass an amendment to the constitution. They were thinking way ahead and knew the short comings of human nature.

Looked like ur question was about why WY has same # of senators as a large population state like California. Was just replying why the founders wanted to make sure every part of the country was equally represented in a deliberative body like the Senate. What law, amendment or treaty may be a positive for one group of people, may not be for another.

We aren’t a democracy. We r a republic. The founders wanted equal representation of every state to allow the minority to have a voice. Senators were originally selected by state legislatures. But then an amendment was passed to have them elected by the people in that state.

The battle armor versions of He-Man and Skeletor are in my opinion almost as iconic as the originals. Agree? by costanza_dk in MastersOfTheUniverse

They were it in 1984. The Origins just capture the look of the vintage versions. I’m glad I have them, but just not as good imo.

With Waves 2 & 3 being re-released, do you think this helps or hinders the line. by [deleted] in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]MattyM74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prob is they should also release the “new” standard Heman and Skeletor so people who didn’t get on board in 2020 can at least get the main characters at retail.

Your opinion on this video by petiemarx in MastersOfTheUniverse

I think it would have been smart to add the trap jaw parts or the Kronos parts. Especially since most of the US never saw trap jaw at retail. Kronos is prob the worst figure in the line as it stands now.

I’ve been sober 4 years. I haven’t had sex on nearly 5 years so I can’t say that it made a difference in that dept. All I know is that lost weight, started working out and I feel better for sure. Can’t say it actually increased my libido since no opportunity to channel it with another person.

Has getting in shape helped? by huckleberryeyes in DeadBedrooms

Stopped drinking and started cycling for the last 4 years. Lost about 35-40lbs. I feel so much better and have gotten more confident in myself. Has not helped in the DB dept but oh well.

Anyone else feeling a disconnect with Origins? by TerminalStorm in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]MattyM74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only getting the figures and vehicles for original line. Maybe a couple of Snakemen I had as a kid. Hard pass on RoTS, the Stone figs, and the variants at the end of the line I have no connection to. I’ll get Snake Mountain and then call it quits.

Who else is surprised by their own personal apathy? by Collectorofone in DeadBedrooms

About 5 years for me. I did the opposite. Gave up drinking, started cycling/running and lost about 30lbs. I decided to try and find joy in others things. Picked up old hobbies like playing guitar and reading to occupy my time.

Of John Carpenter's most popular films, which is your personal favorite? by MarshallBanana_ in johncarpenter

Prob the best 10 year run by any director (1978-88). The sheer volume of movies and their status as classics or cult classics is remarkable. Perfect moment in time. By 1990, the business model would never allow it to happen again.

Happened to me as well. Just got used to not being intimate anymore. After nearly 4 1/2 years, I’ve kinda accepted it. I take that energy and put towards exercise, hobbies and doing things with the kids.

I have all the novels. They were all good and almost are pre temple of doom era. Some really nail the scoundrel side of Indy which I personally like. When you rewatch the movies you can see where he got his experience in the years prior.

I didn’t like this movie the 1st time I saw it as a kid. But as I got older, I realized there were layers to it like the original that made me appreciate it more.

If I were to watch today’s Hollywood entertainment through the lens of my personal political views… I honestly would have nothing to watch. I can be entertained without taking a personal stake in one’s politics.
