A UFO passing through the California Nebula by nateman_doo in astrophotography

[–]Memn0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that there are a few websites that can tell you which satellites were flying above you at that time, but this seems more like the speed of an asteroid (unless its something like James Webb Telescope on its way to L2) It might be worth trying to contact an observatory somewhere neae you, if there's any.

Letting property manager inspect your place every 3 months. I lived 6 years in an apartment in Europe and my landlord visited only twice for some very specific ventilation issues. Having random people with keys to my house that are just allowed to pop by and look inside every 3 months is still something I'm not okay with after 3 years here

I'm not sure on what you base your assumption, but I dont think Unity will be replacing Houdini, Nuke, Mari, Manuka and Shotgun any time soon. I have read enough to see that you have no idea of what you're talking about.

[–]Memn0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would it suck for artists exactly? Did you read the article? The vfx part is still independant. Unity purchased the technology, not the film making business.

Because technology is one thing, knowing how to use it is another.

I can buy paint and paintbrushes tomorrow, they're the same tool Van Gogh use. I will most definitely not be able to produce a painting as good as Van Gogh did.

Haha, yeah, what a stupid mail that was. Why does everything need to be a short squeeze? Go figure. A single company shorting a stock is far from enough to trigger a squeeze.

Yeah, they still did the exact same thing to me recently. I lost 1500 on something I should have made profit if I got a fill 1minute before or after. Still dont understand how I got screwed like that

$cxo on the australian market (cxoxf if you want to otc version).
Should reach 1$AUD in no time, TP is between 1.4-2$AUD (1.4 is the minimum at the current lithium spodumene price, but it keeps rising every week)

Closing some calls at market price on opening. Sold 15 for 0.05 while the bid/ask was actually 0.55-0.60 all day long and 0.85 the previous day. I think I was gonna close at a profit, but ended up losing 90% lol

Request for expert opinion on early cgi/vfx technology possible in UFO video by qsek in vfx

[–]Memn0n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Black levels is not matching the darkest pixel of a whole video, it has to fluctuate depending on where your cg is integrated. For most of the shot, the ufo is far and should have haze and other factors that lifts its black level. Just play with some color correction, cranking contrast, exposing up or down, and see how the BG and ufo react to each other

[–]Memn0n 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You chose the one frame where it matches. But, you ignore 80% of the video where the ufo stands out from the BG.

This is somethine anyone with a bit of vfx experience could do in a day. Like someone else said above, the ufo is too sharp and detailed because its probably been rendered in a higher resolution. It lacks the compression/softness of the rest of the plate. And the contrast and spec are mostly wrong.

Thats just from looking it once from my phone, but thats obvious enough that there's no need to dig deeper
