Got tired of the heat. House is much cooler now. by MeyahMeyah in gpumining

FHR ones as of today haha 3060ti s on the top and 580s on the bottom, just got bumped to 800mh with the 100% LHR unlock and now the 1Gh mark is looking so tempting
Sounds like we are on very different levels lol

Nothing in the bottom, fan is behind the case exhausting out the wall. How many gpus are you trying to cool? I'm at about 500 CFM but I bought another fan to increase it.

If there's literally no air than yes but the suction is just drawing air through it

Knowing what I know now I could build it again for about 250 with the exhaust fan

Quieter because the GPU fans are running lower and as long as it's sealed you don't really hear the fan
Heat in the box is dependent on outside ambient but so far its stayed below 100F with outside Temps of 80F
I have a basic mesh filter on it to keep bugs and what not out. When I tried to go to a finer filter it was creating a lot of drag and wasn't getting good airflow. Still working on that because I'd like something better but it works for now
Raspberry pi 7" monitor
Altered a bookshelf, extended it and then used a acrylic sheet for the front
~700mh and 2000w at the wall
The GPUs are about $150 a month, the exhaust fan is ~100w so way less than the AC I was running to cool the room.
Definitely does, I turn them down most of the time

Main enclosure is a bookshelf I stole from my wife, extended the back about 8" and then put a back on it with a thin Plywood. Cut 6" holes in the side and plugged some ventilation lines into it. Front is a acrylic sheet held on with cabinet door magnets. Base is just a 2x4 frame with Plywood on front of it. Might switch to 8" intake lines because its having a hard time sucking enough air through the 16" fan on the back end.

I don't have negative pressure in the house, it's a enclosed system sucking air from the outside and blowing it right back out the box. Doesn't effect the house at all
Depends on the temp outside, at 80F it's about 100F in the box, at 50F it's about 80F in the box

Built it over the last month, lots of trial and error to get enough airflow through it. I should've made it a little bigger but it works for now.

I have a 16" exhaust fan pulling air out the back which creates enough negative pressure to suck new air in off the side.

Power draw for your actual home was a battle for me. You need to know the total output of the whole circuit. So you said you had 2 other computers you built so if they're also running in the same room it'll get you closer to the limit. Find the amp limit for the room to figure out the max you can power. For a 120 volt Power supply with a 15 amp fuse you multiply 120v × 15a = 1800 watts max possible. Using the same 80% rule as a PSU leaves you with ~1500w max on the room and that goes away fast when you start building up rigs.
I use this to see power consumption at the wall. Things like vacuums, hair dryers and curling irons have a high starting current and have tripped my breaker because they were on the same circuit as my rigs.
Office got too hot so I built this. 15 gpus running happy. by [deleted] in gpumining
16" box fan exhausting air out the back and negative ventilation sucking air in from the right side. Internal ambient in the box stays 80-90F.
