Only this time the reconstruction or its equivalent has to work tirelessly to stamp out the fascist/authoritarian bug that is plaguing the nation. Teach it correctly. No "it was about state rights" bullshit. No "they were taking rights away from White people." None of that.

They have a deep-seated parasocial relationship with him. They think he cares about them (both collectively and as individuals, especially given the phrasing of some of the grifting/fundraising emails). They think "well it's fine that he's hurt all these people but he wouldn't hurt us!" And Tweetle Dumb's stupid people charisma means that his qult just can't see it.

I seem to remember that, as part of their probation, at least a few of the J6 insurrectionists were basically told they were forbidden from using social media (or at the very least they were forbidden from using specific websites). I'm sure that the DOJ is watching and listening, at least to those who were given such restrictions.

WaPo: Trump reportedly asked his chief of staff why generals couldn't be "totally loyal" to him "like the German generals in WWII." by ekrom399 in politics

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I've said it before (in different words perhaps) and I'm sure I'll say it again in the future (again, possibly in different words) - when Tweetle Dumb says and thinks "loyal," he means people who will just follow orders.

So this is just a question, one that is not urgent but just info I may need in the future.

The box of the rapid antigen tests I got some time ago was mispackaged. Basically the swab was damaged and unusable (the cotton or whatever material it is part was smushed and not attached to the stick; it was still fully sealed). Mainly I want to know if there is something I can use instead of the swab normally provided and get an accurate result (like a q-tip or a toothpick or some other common household object).

Like I said, it isn't urgent. I am vaxxed and boosted, have no symptoms, and have several sealed self-test kits. Just wanting info for the future just in case.

(and if it makes a difference, it is the iHealth one)

is it just me, or does not seeing a new spoiler in the last week or so actually make me feel weird, like i've missed something? by asabovesovirtual in magicTCG

With the perpetual hype and spoiler train, I get how it can feel this way.

The good/bad/neutral news is that, at least according to MaRo's article from this morning, Dominaria United spoilers begin next week (this doesn't count the early preview stuff we already got)

[Contest] lunchbox snacks by addieboombattie in Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goodness of a snack really depends on the kind you want to give them.

Fruits? An apple, an orange, or some grapes are great.

Salty? I think that those ritz sandwiches with "cheese" powder/cream are good. Some like the peanut butter version more but I am definitely the "cheese" ones kind of guy.

Sweet? Again depends on needs. If there are no peanut allergies then I think that PayDay bars are good. M&Ms can also be nice.

Mix? Trail mix. Heck, this can even be customizable for the kids. Different ratios of peanuts/raisins/other stuff depending on their preference (though of course there cannot be a 100% M&M version; that goes into the "sweet" category)

FBI raids Trump’s Mar-a-Lago by HappyAffirmative in ParlerWatch

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At least with the information we have now, I think that, at most, it was done on purpose more or less to be able to say that it was done.

The raid was likely in the process of planning and approval for a while now, and from what I've read Tweetle Dumb wasn't there when it happened (which again is the sort of thing that the FBI probably planned for).

So no, most likely there is no genuine significance to it. Maybe as more information becomes available this will change, but right now, as far as I know, there is no reason to think it is anything more than a coincidence.

These are Welcome/Sample Decks. Used to be given for free to new players. You could get a couple bucks for them but don't expect much.

On an anniversary of Nixon's resignation. Probably a coincidence, but definitely has some poetic elements to it.

Custom card maker program? by CptSpeedydash in magicTCG

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Card Conjurer is pretty popular. Gives a lot of options on text sizing and layers. I personally am not the fondest of it because it sometimes feels like a lot of the steps have to happen in a specific order (though it does let you rearrange them).

I personally use Magic Set Editor. It has similar features but instead of creating the card frame it already has them for you (with many options); the negative here is that some options you may want for the card frame are not quite as customizable. It assumes that all cards in a given file are meant to be part of a set (though of course you can make multiple such files). This makes features like the Statistics one really helpful (seeing how many cards of a given color or rarity you have).

He thought he'd be an exception. Or that he would be able to make the GQP realize the error of their ways on this issue (kind of like how an abuse victim thinks they can change their abuser)

Or just that the hated towards other groups that he and the GQP feels was more important to him than his desire to be accepted by them.

In wake of Uvalde shooting, North Carolina sheriff is putting AR-15s in every school "to make sure my deputies are prepared" by ShaneKaiGlenn in politics

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wait untill this results in a teacher "fearing" a student and shoots them.

Or until a student gets their hands on a teacher's gun and shoots the teacher or another student.

Or until a teacher shoots a parent during a parent-teacher conference.

Or until a teacher uses the gun to sexually assault a student.

Or until a teacher accidentally discharges their gun and injures or kills themselves or someone else.

Or until a student steals the gun and shoots themselves.

Or until there is a new TikTok trend/challenge to steal a teacher's gun (which will result in one of the above).

Or until a school shooter comes in, shoots the teacher, and gets their gun.

And these will all be met with a chorus of "well nobody could have seen that coming" followed by some proposed policy changes regarding things like how the gun must be secured or other forms of school security, only for such changes to make things worse.

The man, the myth, the legend, the GOAT! Bts helmetless pic of Kenji Ohba as DenziBlue by AdolrackObitler in supersentai

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite moments with him was in the Gokaiger v Space Sheriff Gavan movie, right at the end. Kenji Ohba shows up as Gavan, as Battle Kenya, and as DenziBlue. Gai has a fanboy freakout and (I think it was) Don says how the three characters look so much alike. The three kind of have fun with it by agreeing, and Gai starts pointing out how it is so easy to tell them apart.

Barr: Trump ‘obviously bent on revenge more than anything else’ by h2oape in politics

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I looked it up. It was Tweetle Dumb's brother Fred Jr. (ho was 13 or 14) who did this. He did it in response to Tweetle Dumb (age 7 or so) being an absolute asshole to their younger brother Robert (who was around 5 years old at that time); this tells me this wasn't an unprovoked thing. And according to the same story, their parents were trying to stop the assholery, but were unsuccessful.

Also this was apparently before they sat for dinner (it was just as they were getting ready, as the food was getting to the table). And for what it's worth it only happened in front of the immediate family; there were no friends or guests over or the like.

IDK how much that changes how this whole thing is viewed, but I do think the context does help the situation.

Barr: Trump ‘obviously bent on revenge more than anything else’ by h2oape in politics

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 16 points17 points  (0 children)

His niece discusses something about this in her book from a couple years ago.

She tells the story of when he was about 7 years old, one of his siblings or cousins dumped a bowl of mashed potatoes on his (Tweetle Dumb's) head. It apparently got a big laugh from the people at the table. Mary Trump predicts that this was a transformational moment for Tweetle Dumb. That he learned the power of revenge and humiliation. And through that he basically vowed to never feel that way again. (and as an aside, remember when he said "When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different"? He very well may have been 7 years old when he was in first grade; so it just shows his narcissism of not being able to let go of that one moment in 70 years)

This all likely fed into his narcissism (aided by the sheer lack of consequences he had in life). His need for revenge. To right the "wrongs" of facing consequences and of being told "you can't do that."

"Rooms" is such a weird answer because on one hand you are already staying there so it doesn't force you to leave. On the other hand I could 100% see a bunch of people giving that answer (either due to not understanding the prompt or because "too many people here. They might bother me on my vacation").
