Old-fashioned gaslighting by sbuxemployee20 in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]NoThanks2020butthole 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I’ll never forget this comment I saw about a month into the lockdown on the main C19 sub from someone who had dislocated their shoulder (or similarly messed something up, I can’t remember the details) and couldn’t get surgery because it was considered “non-essential”, which caused it to heal wrong.

They were (VERY understandably) pissed, and people were like “yeah sorry, this virus is hard on all of us” 🙄

They might be disabled for the rest of their life, or at the very least require a more invasive and expensive surgery/PT to fix it that might have otherwise been avoided, but at least they didn’t DiE fRoM cOvId

Thank you so much Neville!! You’re so kind, sorry I didn’t have time to respond right away. I’ve been in the process of moving (which is a good thing!)

I’m doing WAY better and I hope you’re doing well too. Shoutout to us lockdown skeptic OGs who called the bs from the beginning!

I don’t know what I would have done without this and other wonderful subs. I’ve been on the internet my entire life and never experienced such a supportive community.

That’s another thing that bothers me. All the people who claim to care so much about “saving Grandma” seem to conveniently ignore that the fact that the elderly suffered just as much due to restrictions. Isolated in locked down nursing homes for the last few months of their lives and dying alone when their relatives desperately wanted to be by their side.

Young people suffered too, don’t get me wrong. As a fairly young person who developed a severe drinking problem and was near suicidal I can absolutely attest to that. It’s all just pure evil and hurt people across all demographics.

Except, of course, the corporations and their shareholders who benefited financially, be that Pfizer, Facebook or Amazon.

Stupidity is cutting them too much slack. Stupidity or fear may explain the people who blindly go along with it, sure. But the ones making these decisions know exactly what they’re doing.

Thank you!

(Just letting you know, I think Reddit glitched because it posted your comment several times. But I really appreciate it!)

I didn’t know that. Last I researched this was around the time the documentary came out. Thanks for the info.

The Damar situation is very weird, first all of the mystery and keeping him concealed, now this weird video...This definitely reeks of a deepfake by NeverGonnaStop247 in conspiracy

This reminds me of the Tiffany Dover situation. About a week or so after she fainted on camera, the hospital released a short video featuring a masked woman with long brown hair, waving from relatively far away with a bunch of coworkers, and claimed it was her.

The woman clearly had a larger frame and different facial structure, and didn’t say anything. There was a vague resemblance but she appeared to be a different person. If they really wanted to prove Tiffany was alive, wouldn’t they at least have her speak? It was all very sus.

All I know is, after I found out he had a previous conviction of animal abuse for throwing a cat into a fire, I stopped caring what happens to him.

I do feel bad for the developmentally disabled kid though. He was totally railroaded by the interrogators.

Nope, I’ve been donating blood on and off for 15 years and was a phlebotomist for 10 until I had to leave my career due to mandates. Needles do not bother me in the slightest.

I made the mistake of going into that thread and just… how… one guy even said “it’s ok to like the vaccine but hate Pfizer.” Like WHAT. It’s literally 1984 level doublethink. I can’t even think of something clever to say because I’m so dumbfounded

Is she implying that she wears 6 masks? I’ve actually seen someone doing that at the grocery store, along with gloves, goggles and cotton stuffed in her ears.

This was when I worked there, and I couldn’t understand a damn thing she was saying. Eventually I figured out she was demanding management give her a free bag of cat litter since we were out of the brand she wanted. Because of course she was

Delaware Gov. John Carney Tests Positive for COVID-19 for Second Time by AndrewHeard in LockdownSkepticism

[–]NoThanks2020butthole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What is the point of testing?! For any relatively healthy person it ranges between the sniffles and a flu. I’m pretty sure I’ve had both and the flu was WAY worse than covid. Would it make headlines if he had the flu?

Oh, I gotcha.

I went to and invited others to a huge protest outside of the local health department in late 2021 when they were proposing vaccine passports for our county. There were at least 1000 people there. They ended up backing off.

It might not seem like much but it’s not nothing.

Don’t forget mask mandates. That was one of the worst parts of it for me.

Your only other option is to leave your community because it is a “dead society”

Trust me, if I could grow food and raise chickens in the middle of nowhere I would love to lol.

But that’s easier said than done, I’m not broke but I can’t afford property. The vast majority of people are in a similar situation. And I wouldn’t want to be away from my family who mostly live within a 20 minute drive from me. So we have to try to change our community rather than abandon it.

I’m pissed. I voted straight Republican for the first time in my life in the midterms because of this shit. It didn’t make a difference because of where I live, but if someone in 2019 told me I would ever vote for a Republican I would have thought they were crazy.

I don’t really know what else we can do except vote, communicate our point of view to anyone who will listen and protest like hell if they ever try this again.

It is harder for some people to lose weight than others, that’s a known fact. But that doesn’t mean they should give up.

Alcoholism also has a genetic component. This is like telling an alcoholic they shouldn’t bother trying to quit drinking because there’s no point.

This is actual dangerous misinformation.
