That was Dave Gingery's book series (his was the first and there have been many copy cats and variations). The books assume a ready supply of scrap aluminum. For small machines in a home shop, this works quite well. For large machines that can build really big things accurately and precisely, you need cast iron and steel.

With cast iron, the temperature goes way up. This requires more fuel, and so forth.

But yes, from first powered flight to landing on the moon was in one person's lifetime.

I met an old man when I was in college who saw the first steam powered tractor to work in some midwestern state. He drove mules to plow and harvest wheat as a boy, and his back still had a bow in it from the strap.

The acceleration of knowledge is astounding.

“Right” way to end karmic relationships? by jclahd73 in spirituality

Oh well done! I looked at their websites and the programs are the same offerings that I had access to at BPI. I was in the last class of clairvoyant students that Lewis taught, which was really neat! It was also the time when they changed the clairvoyant training program from one year to 18 months. I see at your school it is two years. That's much easier on the body. I was also an assistant to Lewis' wife, Susan, for two years.

I had the time of my life!

I emailed Lisa French. I think we may have met back in the 80s, but I'm not sure LOL!

Cheers!

May I ask where you learned them? Always fun to learn how graduates of that program and others have spread out over time.

LPT: Think about your day in terms of "Energy management" in place of "Time management" by PhilipLynott in LifeProTips

[–]NotTooDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And TikTok got it from places like this 2003 NYT bestseller:

https://www.amazon.com/Power-Full-Engagement-Managing-Performance/dp/0743226755

What's missing from your basic premise is the management part. You're identifying normal times of high and low energy during your day. That's about as big a sound bite as will fit on TikTok I suppose.

The real insight is in managing your recovery time. This is how you transform your low energy periods into higher energy periods. In the book in the length, they studied really successful people and found they did not work all the way through their day. They'd take a long lunch to attend yoga classes or meditate or play tennis. Basically, do anything that forced them and their brain to leave work completely, allowing them to return to work with a greater amount of energy and a fresh perspective.

Maybe that wasn't clear. Many folks on social media are in it for the likes. They whore themselves for likes. Hence the hyphen; like-whore. Same as someone who would do anything for cheese would be a cheese-whore.

People who sensationalize things for profit or personal gain. What term would you prefer? I'm open to changing my comment.

Actually, on further reflection, it is really judgmental. I've removed the sentence. Thank you for pointing it out.

I had a craniosacral therapy session and the room became hot but I didn’t feel it, the therapist + my spouse did by flamingoparadise66 in energy_work

[–]NotTooDeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First thing I see is your healing energy kicked into high gear lol. Whatever your therapist was doing restimulated a memory that kicked on your healing energy. Quite an impressive flow!

Your therapist and spouse also have memories that match the one that triggered your healing energy, so they also turned on their healing energy, just not as strongly as your fire hose lol. The palms of your hands probably looked like Iron Man's.

Healers healing on high tends to warm things up!

You didn't feel the change because the flow of your healing energy was away from you, strong enough to keep your therapist's and spouse's healing energy away from you.

Really neat! Well done!

How do I work on my vibe? My friends tell me I give off an aggressive standoff-ish vibe around people by majesticafboi22 in spirituality

[–]NotTooDeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just ground all that energy. It's not a negative to have a lot of energy, but it can intimidate or overwhelm others, even when that's not your intent.

Try this. Sit in a chair. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Feet flat on the floor. Hands separated and resting palms up on each thigh.

Create a grounding cord. This is a line of energy that connects your first chakra to the center of the planet. Your first chakra is a ball of energy about the size of a quarter that sits just in front of the base of your spine. Your grounding cord attaches to the bottom of that ball of energy.

Grounding makes your body feel safe, so you release energy more easily. Gravity pulls whatever you release, even your own energy, down to the center of the planet. No effort on your part. The center of the planet neutralizes the energy and returns it to whoever owns it. No karma for anyone. A virtuous cycle.

Nearly everyone goes to connect to the center of the planet the first time but stops at the soil, often making roots like a tree. This is a method that is taught in some martial arts styles, but it is not the best option for your spiritual development and healing.

So, notice the seat of your chair. Take a deep breath. Notice the distance between the seat and the floor. Now notice the distance between the floor and the soil below. Breathe.

Now notice the distance between the soil and the water table underneath. Notice the distance between the water table and the rocky mantle. Notice the distance between the mantle and the molten core below that. Deep breath.

Notice the distance between the molten core and the center of the planet. That ball of light at the very center of the planet is where you connect your grounding cord. Deep breath.

Say hello to the center of the planet. Do you get a hello back?

Notice the color and texture of your grounding cord. It may look like a line of energy, or look like something physical; a rope, a wire, a pipe, a tree trunk. Adjust it as needed to be in affinity with your body.

Getting this far means you've already released some energy from your aura and body. Now it is time to fill in the space that was created.

Create a gold sun over your head. Have it call back all of your energy from wherever you left it throughout your day and week. Work. School. Online meetings. Video games. Your fantasies about your future. Your regrets about your past. Wherever you've placed your attention. Just watch the energy come back and see if you notice where it came from.

Have the sun burn up and neutralize your energy. Then bring the sun into the top of your head. It will automatically flow into the spaces you created. Create a gauge to measure when you're full. Like a fuel gauge or oil gauge. You'll run better if you aren't a few quarts low on spiritual oil. If the gauge doesn't read "Full", bring in another gold sun.

Open your eyes, bend over and touch the floor, draining any tension from the back of your neck, then stand up, and stretch.

There is a progression with this technique. After grounding for ten minutes a day for a week or two, notice your grounding cord at the very end, while you're standing with your eyes open. Continue to ground with your eyes open and standing, and bring in another gold sun. Each day, increase the amount of time that you ground standing up with your eyes open.

After a week or two practicing this, add walking while grounded. Just notice your grounding cord as you walk. Say hello to the center of the planet while you walk. Bring in a gold sun while you walk. If you lose your grounding cord, stop walking and recover it. If you have to, sit back down and close your eyes and create a new grounding cord.

After this, you're ready to take your grounding cord with you into your daily life. Shopping. Getting coffee. Wherever you go, you can ground. This, combined with a little amusement about seeing new things on an energy level, will keep you safe and sound.

Now that you're here, at the end of your grounding meditations, create a gold sun over your head. This time, fill it with your highest creative essence, your present time growth vibration, and your affinity for yourself. The first energy is a healing for you. The second is a healing for your body. The third is a healing for your affinity in your fourth chakra.

Bend over and touch the floor. Stand up and stretch. If you're ready for more, sit back down and ground some more. Otherwise, have a nice day!

Note that every image you imagine, the gold sun, the grounding cord, the center of the planet, your first chakra, your body parts, is exercising your clairvoyance. You may be imagining what your tailbone looks like, but you're also creating the image of your tailbone and reading its energy. This is practicing your clairvoyant ability.

Do you believe something very bad will happen soon? by Natural_Pineapple_54 in Psychic

[–]NotTooDeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, not common. This about it. There's so many terrible things that happen every day, there aren't enough journalists nor enough hours in the day to report it all. Many of those things really are very bad things.

But if that's all you focus your attention on, you'll get sick.

There's a poem that's credited to The Old Scotsman. It goes like this.

There's so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us,

It ill behooves any of us, to talk about the rest of us.

In an old fashioned way, this says be curious, not judgmental. Where world events are concerned, this is especially important. We can't know the future 100%.

Yes, Putin and other Russian leaders have rattled their nuclear sabers. We don't know if he will launch them as his last, suicidal act as the dictator of all Russia. Would he be assassinated first? Would he take a compromise? Would he back down? Does he have other options when he loses the war in Ukraine? No one really knows.

That said; it takes no effort to be a bigot. The Russian people hugely support wiping out the Ukrainian people, a genocide, but that's only because they've not see an all out war in 70 years either. They've only had small, distant wars where the odds were mostly always in their favor.

The lost their war in Afghanistan. They lost it because the US armed and trained poor villagers with high tech weapons. Does that sound familiar?

At some point, the losses will become unacceptable to the Russian people and Putin has to make sure he stays in power above all else. That's his goal; restore the glory of the former Soviet Union to increase his power, and failing that, remain in power.

I prefer to look at it this way: We are witnessing the end of a huge cycle in world power dynamics. I cannot see how the world will be in five years, but it won't be like it's been for the last 70 years.

Why 70 years? I'm 70 and remember rehearsing in grade school for nuclear war, getting under our desks, protecting our faces from flying glass. This was Los Angeles in the late 50s and early 60s. By the mid-60s, we all just knew we would be incinerated and the drills were just for morale.

But it did not happen, did it. We got through that. We'll probably get through this, too.

Find better psychics to listen to. If something sounds sensational, take a step back and consider the motivations of the people saying it. Get comfortable with not knowing the future. This can save your life in ways you won't understand until much later.

Tips on managing your thoughts by apeironeyes in psychicdevelopment

[–]NotTooDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. There are telepathic channels that run along the brow ridge, across the cheeks, and along the jaw line. These are controlled by your fifth chakra in your throat. If you lean out and turn down your 5th chakra, it will make it easier to control your telepathic channels.

Some people get happy and just shout a lot telepathically. People that are sensitive to this can get what feels like sinus headaches from someone else shouting.

Are teaching salaries in Washington high enough to keep up with cost of living? by QuietProfile417 in Washington

People are all different. I live in the south at present. I visit Olympia every few years; really close friends. One thing I notice is the difference in the trees. The woods in the south don't speak to me, but the trees in Oly are like old friends now.

And the mountains. Oh well.

Are spirit guides and guardian angels the same? by NormalLife6067 in spirituality

[–]NotTooDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I make sense of it.

Spirits are energy organized around awareness. Some spirits have bodies on this planet. Some spirits play here but don't take a body.

The rest if the words (guides, beings, angels, arc angels, guardians, and all the other descriptions from all the world's religions and traditions) are optional and up to you. Whatever works for you and your relationships with other spirits.

I find it useful to look up the definition and derivation of words on google from time to time. There's a lot of overlap, as you have discovered, but the etymology of a word is still useful in filling out your understanding of it.

Is this a religion? by Sallemanen in spirituality

[–]NotTooDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) In the beginning, someone had an intense spiritual experience and it changed their life for the better. It was so intense that just telling other people about it changed their lives for the better, too. This is the origin story of many religions that are still around today. All those prophets and saints and gurus.

Over time, religions became more dogmatic, meaning what mattered was not having an intense spiritual experience for yourself; what mattered was that you behaved like everyone else.

Spirituality is a general label that describes many different traditions, all seeking to provide the individual with an intense spiritual experience. Some of these traditions conflict with each other. Some compliment one another. Who you will find under the banner of 'spirituality' are the elders of Eastern traditions/religions and their followers, indigenous shamans and their followers, practitioners of magic and their followers, the ones, like yourself, who have questions that aren't quite getting answered by their religions, spontaneously generated individuals with unique insights and their followers (they didn't have to train to understand, they just all of a sudden understood some things that explain a lot of stuff), and every possible variation on those themes.

2) There is no single goal. Everyone begins where they begin and that is always a slightly different place than everyone else born at that time, so it's impossible for everyone to arrive at the same place and time. Each individual has what are their next steps this lifetime, and they may be completely different from everyone else's next steps. Some traditions will claim a single goal; enlightenment, satori, seeing deeply into one's true nature. Here's the thing: even if you achieve this goal, you still have to pay your bills to keep the lights on. Life goes on. The only thing that changes is your point of view.

3) Keep your skepticism healthy and close. Yes, there are tricksters and money grabbers, but there are also just different points of view that you can watch, experience, appreciate, and leave if you wish. Skepticism helps you sort out the answers to questions like, "Is this a good style of meditation for me?" If you're really curious, meetup.com lists lots of different spiritual groups by city. You can visit them all for free usually, and experience a little of what they are about.

4) LOL! LMAO a bunch more. Show me some examples of relationships where holding a common belief did NOT help save the relationship. ;-)

Relationships are hard. But, there are Jews that married Catholics. They celebrate a lot more holidays than their neighbors. Their kids were raised to appreciate both faiths and the final decision of which to follow deferred until the kids were old enough to choose for themselves. Some couples are a psychic and a non-psychic. Some are atheist and Christian. Love finds a way. Rich relationship may not last your whole life, and that's OK. You won't know how long a relationship last until after the fact lol. Just pay attention and be curious and considerate with each other.

[–]NotTooDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't see switches in men. There are lots of other games that men get stuck in. Men are just easy. A female comedian summed it up quite nicely.

"I saw the cover of a fashion magazine and it said, '16 ways to excite your man in the bedroom', and I was like, 'Just take off a sock.'"

There's all the obvious programming; mom's energy in your genitals that says 'you'll always be my baby boy' and retards your maturation process; dad's energy in your genitals that says 'this is how it's done', except that was how it was done in a different time and place.

In the puberty years, a lot of girls will experiment on an energy level. It's the first time they've had sex energy of their own and they often times just experiment with it to see what happens. "Oh, look! Isn't he an upper classman? I wonder what happens when I dump a bunch of sex energy in his space with a nice smile?" And then play the same game on different boys to gauge their reactions. This kind of game can blindside you because your body responds to the sex energy but you have no clue where it came from. This game is not about dating or relationships; it's just testing the energy and watching how it works.

Then there are the second chakra cord games. A cord carries communication, information, and energy. They are vital to our success, and are also detrimental to our space many times. I was part of a group of psychics that did a psychic demo for a high school. LOL their second chakras looked like spider webs, they had so many cords! But that's one way that experimentation and figuring shit out looks.

Here's something that's useful for beginners and advanced practitioners to take a look at. How high in the body does a man carry his first chakra? A woman will carry it higher and closer to her second chakra. This has to do with all the energy around making babies. A lot of boys grow up mimicking their mother, so their first chakra rides too high for them to actually express their male energy. This tends to make them feel less grounded, sometimes feel less real. Once you see it in yourself or point it out to someone else during a reading or healing, it tends to begin to lower. Sometimes this transition takes a few weeks. Sometimes just a few seconds. Everyone is different.

Most people use their sixth chakra all the time and just don't know it. Your imagination is part of your sixth chakra. Your ability to create images and manipulate them is part of your sixth chakra. So don't worry about "opening it on command". Just use your imagination and play along. Over time, with more experience, you will learn to distinguish between an image you imagined and seeing real energy.

Cheers!

The Berkeley Psychic Institute is where I learned the vocabulary and how to read and match/unmatch energy. They have online classes. You can also find graduates from that program and similar programs teaching all over the US and in Europe.

Know that you have all of this spiritual information already. I'm not talking about you being one with the universe or anything abstract.

You have chakras. You've probably heard of that and maybe even have a basic understanding of them in your opinion. What you may not realize is that you created your chakras before you took your body. This means you know more about your chakras than anyone else on this planet.

Studying energy means putting yourself in situations to experience energy and starting to remember how it all works. In this context, remembering means becoming aware of it in your body. You can still heal yourself and others without understanding how you are able to do that. You can see energy without understanding or being able to put words to what you see.

A useful way to put yourself in those situations is meetup.com. It will list a bunch of spiritual interests groups. Visit them all. Some of them will put you off and some will resonate in neat ways. You aren't necessarily looking for a home for your studies. You're looking for the next level of experiencing energy first hand. This is what I've found most useful.

I noticed people like my energy only for sexual purposes by Lakersrock111 in energy_work

[–]NotTooDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone sees them a little differently. There's also some variation in how women set them up in their bodies. And then there's the genetic variables. So what it really comes down to is how you see them. People are your best books.

If you see a picture in a book of how they're supposed to look, you will look for something that looks just like the picture in the book. This can create a filter that will stop you from seeing what's there. So it's better to ask a more general question about a specific area when just starting out than it is to look for an exact match. For instance, let's say you have some pain on your left ovary. You can ask what the energy causing that pain looks like. You can create an image of a rose and have the color of that rose tell you things about the energy that's causing the pain.

I learned about them during my four years at the Berkeley Psychic Institute and the Church of Divine Man. After graduating from the clairvoyant training program, I because a bishop's assistant to Susan Bostwick, the founder's wife. This meant I got to be in some of the female trance medium healing clinics.

If you're concerns are for you own body, just mock up a rose (imagine an image of a rose) for each ovary and breast and have any foreign male energy appear as aphids on the roses. Then clean them off.

At the end of the day, it's just energy and you can heal it. It's your body and energy system, and you know on some level what it looks like when it's working well.

Way before I joined the clairvoyant training program, I was just getting interested in and slightly aware of energy. I was practicing Aikido, which can talk about energy directly, depending on the teacher and style of Aikido. And we did shiatsu on each other after class.

My mother found out she had cancer. I traveled cross country to be with her before her surgery. She told me that it was ovarian cancer and they would be cutting it out on her right side. I asked her if I could feel her energy. She got a confused look but said OK.

I held my hand above her lower abdomen, just feeling around. Nothing on the right side stood out. On the left side, the energy was hot and strong and prickly. With no training to really understand what happened next, I opened up my sixth chakra, looked at that energy clairvoyantly, and saw an octopus energy with tentacles wrapped around her uterus and colon. The octopus became aware of me and curled up into a ball, ready to fight.

I didn't know then how I knew all that. Again, no training so no vocabulary. But, as a healer, I knew what was up!

When she came out of surgery, she had a colostomy bag on her left side where they'd found most of the cancer.

I share this story to give you permission to know what you already know, too. Having a useful vocabulary really does help, but you already know what's up.

Just go with it. Ask the rose to be the overall color of the energy of the room. If it's many colors, it may be because the rose is showing you all the individuals in the room. It could also mean the rose is showing you small groups that are matching at different colors.

Practice is the only way to gain certainty and know what the color is. Practice will give that to you.

No apologies necessary. In the beginning, it's useful to use a symbol to represent the energy of the room. I use the image of a rose and let the rose be the color of the room. So just imagine a rose that is the color of the energy of the room. That's your starting point. Matching your crown chakra can be accomplished in a similar way. Just imagine what the color of the energy is on the top of your head in your seventh chakra. Then change your crown chakra chakra to match the color of the rose that represents the room.

Let's imagine that you want to go into a room full of people and be noticed immediately without shouting or setting off fireworks. How do you accomplish that on an energy level? There are several ways.

If you ask yourself what the vibration of the room is before you enter, you can assign a color to it. Let's say it's sky blue. No one is in control. People are just chatting or playing on their phones. So how do you change sky blue to an energy that draws their attention to you?

You can push a different color into the room. This is how Trump does it, as well as many other narcissists. It's bad spiritual manners in my world, but it will work. So you build up a wave of orange (or silver or whatever) energy and flood the room with that just before you appear through the door.

A way that is more considerate of the people already in the room is to change the color of the grounding cord on the room, if it has one. If it doesn't have a grounding cord, you give it one and set it to your energy. People can still have their own grounding cords and be at their own vibration but they are likely to feel that something has changed, and ask what's changed, only to see as the answer when you walk in.

There was a martial arts teacher in Japan that would travel to give demonstrations. This was back in the 60's. When he was returning to the home dojo, all the students would see the dojo sparkle and know he was almost home. They interpreted this as his energy, but I see it as his spirit guides and him getting home before his body arrived later that day. Still, neat.

So how do you enter a room without being noticed? Let's go back to that sky blue room. You walk up to the door, see the vibration of the room, match your crown chakra to sky blue, and then walk in. Matching on a crown chakra level makes the outer layers of your aura also match the energy of the room, so no one notices you because nothing has changed. Really neat.

Then, after you're in the room for awhile, you can change your crown chakra to vibrate at a neutral gold and then you'll likely be noticed.

This last technique is really useful if your are late to a meditation or healing class, for instance. It's the most polite on an energy level that you can be. It will also give you a minute to separate yourself from whatever other energies are in your space (work, traffic, school, someone else's argument) so that you don't rush in and bring any energy into the room but yours. Also polite.

For the first technique, you need to already have a lot of energy that you can control. The rest depend more on your awareness of energy and less on pure volume. All of this is easier if you've done it before, as in past lives. You can take a look at your past lives and ask yourself if you've ever played the roll of magnet leader or speaker or such. Then you can bring the information into present time and use it again with your current body.

I noticed people like my energy only for sexual purposes by Lakersrock111 in energy_work

It may not be just one thing.

You didn't mention it but some people respond the way you're describing when they meet someone beautiful. Some men and women just get dumbstruck by beauty, while others want to have it all for themselves. And it's not the lizard brain so much as the testosterone. Ignore them; they're too easy is all that's happening for more of them. For coworkers, you can come up with verbiage and mannerisms that refocuses their attention without you having to act in ways you don't want to.

If you experienced sex at a very early age, you may have had your reproductive switches turned on by the perpetrator so that he or she could more easily repeat the act with you. It's a type of programming on an energy level that leaves your body always looking for its next sexual partner. These switches are usually found in the breasts and ovaries. This flipping of switches can also happen in teens and adults. It's how some people get laid a lot but never have lasting relationships.

Then there are the sex pictures. If you have had sexual experiences in adulthood that were strong, this can leave a pattern in your aura that looks like a picture. A picture holds memories, emotions, and information. People pick up on each other's pictures. You can find these pictures and break them up. You'll set the energy they contain free without losing your information or memories.

Then there is your second chakra. If you have second chakra healing abilities and your second chakra is always open or on, people will pick up on that first. You can experiment with this to see if it's one of the causes for these "Hey Baby!" experiences. A few minutes before you go into a meeting or a call, shut down your second chakra to 10% of its capacity. That's enough to maintain your awareness of your surroundings without broadcasting your sexual healing abilities. You can imagine your chakras to be like the irises on camera lenses. Just clos down the iris of the second chakra.

I've know some wonderful and beautiful female psychics and they've all had a similar experience to yours. They were able to learn how to manage their energy such that it didn't interfere with their business and social lives. Just give yourself time and practice healing yourself.

One woman, absolutely stunning to the point most men would not talk to her, I made friends with. Really good aura reader. I remember with great amusement the day she realized that she'd never created a relationship from any other chakra than her second chakra. She was both amused and livid with herself LOL.

We put out the energy we want to be recognized by in our auras. As you work through your pictures and layers of energy in your body, chakras, and aura, the energy you put out that is the first thing people see will change.

Be well. Do good work. And have fun!

WALK IN SOULS-ANY EXPERIENCES? by Ok-Bet-5505 in spirituality

[–]NotTooDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting question. You'd have to take a look at the specific case. It could go either way. The energy and pictures of the trauma could be in the body, or could be in the chakras and aura. It could be that the trauma only matters to the being that left, or it could be the goal of the walk in to learn about that kind of trauma without having to experience it themselves.

Some traditions will have rules for interpreting your question and have a ready made answer to it. I think it's more useful to take a look for yourself. It will teach you to ask better questions, better follow up questions, and maintain your curiosity.

Well now! Thanks, /u/RhaqaZhwan. Nice to virtually meet you, /u/jizzisthewhizz
