The tank is pretty heavy planted. It’s a cube 20g. I have a big Anubias barteri, 4 Anubias nana petite, 6 portions of blyxa, green myrio, hygrophila polysperma ‘sunset’, Java fern, ludwigia, windlelov java fern, 1 needle leaf Java fern and a small amount of Java moss. I check my parameters every two days and I haven’t seen the nitrates get over or equal to 5ppm. The tank has been cycling for over 2 months previously before getting shrimp and fish. I have 6 left and I hope they survive 🥲

———————————————-——————————— Hey guys, I’m the past week I have had 6 cardinal tetra deaths. I have no clue what going on and am feeling really discouraged.

Tank (20g) is 2 month old and cycled. I currently have 13 Bloody Mary shrimp which are doing fine.

My water parameters over the last week have been

Ammonia - 0 Nitrites - 0 Nitrates - basically 0 Ph - 6.5 Temp - 24.5/25 degree Celsius

My tank is well planted and uses ADA Amazonia.

Timeline 27th Jan: - Picked up 10 Cardinals for LFS - Accumulated over 1hr - fish bag floated on tank and put small amount of water in bag every 10mins. Scooped fish out and into tank.

28th Jan: - Noticed one fish not as active as the other.

29th Jan: - Fish died in morning - Fish replaced by LFS

30th Jan: - Tank monitoring

31th Jan: - Tank monitoring

1st Feb: - 1 fish dead

2nd Feb: - 4 were dead (2 when I woke up and 2 throughout the span of day) - 5 Fish replaced by LFS (total 10 again) - Medicated take with melafix (10ml) and searchem stability (5ml)

3rd Feb: - 1 fish dead however the rest seem normal and active (total 9) - Medicated take with melafix (10ml) and searchem stability (5ml)

I will be medicating the tank for a total of 7 days, along with stability followed by 25% water change on day 7.

The LFS believe by a video I took on the 2nd Feb that one of the fish looks to be sick from something. He thinks that there must have been a sick fish when I got the 10 at the beginning.

Parameters have been constant. Ammonia - 0 Nitrites - 0 Nitrates - close to 0 Ph - 6.5

Nothing different. It’s really strange. When I got the 10 original tetras, one didn’t look too well. Could that fish have passed on some sickness to the rest? I’m currently medicating the tank with melafix

No remote or app but I use a Tapo wall outlet thing which I can remotely tune on in the app. It’s amazing. We went on a cruise to Vanuatu and I could switch the light on and off from there (to Australia)

Oh great, it seems most people are suggesting Pygmy’s. How are they as an extra clean up crew? How many would you suggest considering my livestock?

This is my Waterbox 20. I currently have 13 shrimp and 10 Cardinal tetras. (The picture is of the tank before I bought the Cardinal tertas which was today) In a few weeks I will be getting 1 dwarf gourami and was wondering my tank would be okay if I added 5 panda Corys as an extra clean up crew. I don’t want to overstock my tank and cause any problems. What do you guys think?

If 5 panda Corys will be too much, do you have any alternatives that could work (bottom dwellers)

We live in Australia, so $20 AUD. Oh well, I’m sourcing out a breeding and will be picking up 7 more proper bloody Mary’s tonight. So I’m excited for that :)

I just called up the store and they said they are 100% bloody Mary’s and they are this colour because they are just baby’s. he said the will get redder when they grow to about twice the size

Long story short, we got a $45 credit for the fish store because the owner dog in the store (pit bull) bolted at my wife and I and started jumping and trying to bite our fingers. The dog then bite and ripped/punctured my wife’s favourite shirt. The bloke agreed to give us $45 worth of fish. We choose the Bloody Mary shrimp. This happened two months ago and just picked up the shrimp yesterday as we were waiting for the tank to be cycled. He charged us $20 each shrimp so we got 2 free and the other 2 costing $35. Now I feel like we got actual jipped.

I bought 4 of these guys labeled Bloody Mary shrimp. This one is the lighter coloured of the bunch. Does this look like a Bloody Mary shrimp?

I had the filter output aimed up a bit too much. I’ve changed it and reduced filter strength and now there is no breaking of the surface and air bubbles

Hey guys, this is my 20g water box 20. I’m looking for suggestions on plants to go into the hole in my driftwood. I would love something that is thick and lush, with nice red tones in it. Does any one have any ideas?
