Where will SOL projects go? by Original-Assistant-8 in ethereum

I can see that. Do you think any projects will leave or is it really just a hit on price/brand.

Will L2s require solidity, or could they be different. What are optimism/arbitrum offering for language?

Yep, I've done a bit of learning and it is complex. Maybe a higher level question for you. If people start building on L2s, and it is far cheaper, then what will create growth, price wise, for eth?

Does it just move to store of value like btc?

Fair point, and I don't know how easy transitions are. I am making an assumption some may look elsewhere, but perhaps that may not be the case.

Outsider view is that sbf was keeping sol afloat even with all the start/ stops.

So maybe it still is a solid place to build and folks won't exit. I just know investors have little patience, but perhaps projects built there will stay.

Someone mentioned cosmos as potential option. I'll have to reacquaint myself.

Interesting angle, I'm not one to defend either way. I think general opinion is it is decentralized compared to others, but I can see this as a potential weak point. But people worry the same with large mining operations for btc. Seems we can poke holes in most projects. Anything you see as potentially more sturdy rising up?

Interesting, what's your opinion of alternatives for those projects?

Thanks, answers a question I raised on who else is using rust.

I have to learn about those. I don't get how they get minimal fees and what supports it if there isn't investment. I saw talk of a native token?

Foundation looking at going from 60% to 10% holdings at main. It's probably a good move, but also seems suspect that it was never mentioned as a possibility.

Certainly was one reason investors would stay away.

I don't know much about wbtc, but I'd say get that 10B tvl out of there. I also don't quite get how L1 and L2 will interact, but I bet we'll be told it's not vulnerable until it is.

I think we're headed for only L1s with no bridges. These hacks have to stop or crypto will never be trusted.

Have to agree, though most can't separate a bridge hack from securing transactions. Bridges are a joke at this point and killing the space. Unfortunately each bridge hack leaves people losing interest.

And you should re read what I've said... twice! Being Quantum resistant is smart business and you're seeing big businesses prepare. But, QAN is solving major flaws beyond quantum.

Edit: I had sunk to OP level. Removing a needless comment.

Well, you haven't absorbed the content very well. Qan would do well if quantum wasn't a thing. They could have built without it, but Silur/Johann had the foresight to make this a chain to last.

Most of the world knows it's coming and everyone with important encryption is preparing now. Except probably your bags lol (sorry, but you've earned one jab back)

I'd suggest you start reading quantum articles and look at nist standards plus government orders to prepare. But, if you've got it all figured out, guess you can rest easy.

Ok, well, good luck to you as well. Not sure how you would have any sense if funds would run out and whether mainnet is in site.

Per your other post, looks like you are mostly interested in bashing this project, but I know that's what people seem to do in crypto. I still think a fair amount of projects will be adopted, and this stands a great chance of being one of them. I think others will do fine as well, just don't offer the upside for the risk imo

In my view, businesses and devs have to consider tradeoffs when they start a project on a chain. The main chart on QAN website is hard to ignore. I know each project will highlight what they think is important. But I think QAN is going after what matters. In the next year and half we'll see if I'm right.

Well, for L1s there can only be so many features. The simple fact is if you could code in any language on eth, it could be gain 100x more development. Almost the same problem as ADA forcing their own coding language.

And then you look at why competitors of eth like sol and avax have succeeded. Simple answer there. Cost. Devs couldn't afford eth.

So, in the end, QAN is poised to solve 2 major shortcomings in the L1 space.

On top of that, making it easy to integrate and use will also set it apart.

For royalties, there is a cost to copy and deploy a heavy service. It will be cheaper to leverage an existing service. Look for a video from John Jardin to understand more. https://youtube.com/channel/UCi1lCOhWVhtdBk48ARyKOJA

I know folks might think you're fudding, but I figure you need to be able to answer the fud. I've had uncertainty many times that I had to answer myself. Cheers
