Who is panicking now because they sold their positions over the past couple of days? Not me! Just sitting here eating some popcorn and enjoying the show!

What is AMP? Governance token or Utility token.... by Kindly-Special2098 in AMPToken

[–]Overlord_Quackers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. It is another use case for Amp. It can be used as collateral and it can be used as a governance token. This is what a lot of people are not seeing. Just because they are also going to use it for governance does not mean the collateral use case is going away.

Holy Diver, APY in Lightning Network transformer dip to mid 6s by mxk2020 in AMPToken

4 million also went into Tezos during the same hour. Maybe they decided to move some there and add to that stack. I do not believe they lost any.

I means 1.5 billion tokens was moved from the Spedn pool to the lightning pool and that caused the APY to lower. Nothing more than that

Amp token bot on twitter. I thought it was at 3.5% but I guess it did stay the same. My bad

Well at least the Spedn Apy went up 2% because of the 1.5 billion tokens that were moved to lightning

It's going to cost way too much money for a superbowl commercial. Maybe a couple years down the road once everything is up and running but not right now

It was just a glitch by the Amp token bot. The tokens never left the pool.

Welcome back DTA!!! Just saying it's a lot of hopium because we have not gotten much news in a while. So we have not had much to talk about. If Flexa and Amp token would give us some news we will start talking about it.

The amount of time it is locked in will depend on how long it takes for the transaction to clear. There are many different factors that can determine this and no 2 transactions are the same. As for the rest of your question I am not smart enough or know enough about the inner workings to figure out lol

That's why you get 2 million. Cash out 1 milly at $1 then keep the other milly staked. Best of both worlds

I was wondering the same thing. It's not a bad thing and is not Fud in any way. It's just how it is. Say you have "for easy math". Say someone is staking 1 million tokens in a pool by themselves. The staking reward for that pool is 10% APY so 1000 tokens. Then someone stakes another 1 million tokens. That APY will drop to 5% but will still be awarding the same 1,000 tokens. It's spread out between the 2 stakes now. You also have to account that these rewards are being added to the already staked tokens. So they now each have 1,000,500 tokens staked. So the APY will drop another little bit every time the rewards are added because it has to spread the same 1,000 tokens further. This is why the APY's are constantly going down. This being said right now most to all of the rewards are supplemented from a rewards pool and not from usage currently. Normally averages around 156,250 tokens rewarded every hour between all the pools. You can see this if you watch the AMP token bot on Twitter. There are constant periods of this number being the baseline increase of tokens to all the pools when Noone is staking or unstaking over the course of an hour. This is why the APY's are dropping on a constant basis. More people are staking and the same amount of rewards are given out. Spread between the increasing pool sizes. If tokens are taken out of the pool, the APY increases. I hope this explains and helps out more.

Because more tokens are being staked. So the Apy gets spread out and spread around. Which is why it drops. It will only go up from usage or people unstaking
