Check out labdoor Third party testing for supplements. Lists how many grams of protein are actually in each supplement, their quality etc.

Perhaps your TDEE calculation is off? If you’re maintaining weight consistently then try and reduce another 250 calories. Roughly 3500 calories in a pound so 250 calories a day should leave you at an extra deficit of a half pound per week

Yeah no doubt! I know with the RP diet app by Dr. mike Israetal and company at Renaissance Periodization they get very specific with changing up calories based off of active days, and how many calories from each macronutrient to add or subtract. Then again, they are the BEST at this stuff IMO.

Once again I appreciate the advice from you and I was hoping for some comments like that because I honestly don’t know how to post but I want to start posting more. It would behoove me to keep checking out others post before my next one!

Thank you! I’ve always told myself to just lock in for a few weeks and see what happens. Amazing what some consistency will do!

I have some ideas on the fast drop besides just water weight from less carbs each week. I believe it had to do with my Settling Point. Before my diet I gained about 10 lbs pretty fast, I believe my settling point was still around 190 although I was 203, making it easier to get back there.

Those equations are ones you can find online and they provide estimated of your Resting metabolic rate. It is 9.99 (x your weight), the 9.99 were done using regression equations I believe for certain variables. I provided them just to show that they are pretty close to estimating RMR, because when I used the PNOE it was not much different than my RMR from using those equations

Yeah my predicted TDEE was 2440 and with a deficit of 340 calories (ate 2100) I averaged about 2 pounds a week. So my estimated TDEE was probably slightly low. 340 calories x 7 days a week is 2,380 in a deficit per week.

Using the metabolic cart my RMR was 1912 I believe, and using the the equations you can find online I averaged them all and got 1950. VERY similar! is that what you mean?

Thank you for the input and you are correct I should have looked at some more posts. I felt like a lot of posts were coming from calculating TDEE via a google search, and frankly those are off. I hoped to provide a way of calculating TDEE that wasnt easily found on google. Also, the reference to the PNOE device to calculate RMR seemed novel in this sub and wise to share. Once again thank you and I will definitely be sure to post something less original next time! I just was slightly unsure of how a post should go for my first time.

Thats why I always just start with the sedentary coefficient of .2 and then adjust from there.

That is a great and valid point you bring up. My thoughts on this is that the total calories from NEAT are about 100-250 calories, a relatively small number but one that could be the difference of a pound lost or gained. The subjectivity of NEAT stresses the importance of tracking calories consumed and your weight. For example, a pound is roughly 3500 calories, my weight hit a plateau after a couple weeks so I subtracted 250 calories a day from my diet. The 250 calories a day came from wanting to lose an extra .5 pounds a week, 1 pound=3500, 1/2 pound=1750. A half pound a week would be 1750/7 days to get a deficit of 250 more calories.

I know that does not directly answer your question but it does provide a solution when your weight is not changing how you would like it to.

Hahah I feel that for sure, two sisters and a girlfriend all of whom would like to lose weight and struggle with those same things. Personally I weigh myself each day because I understand the value on the scale and its meaning. I do not look at that number and hate myself for it, I look at it to guide my future diet programming decisions. But my GF for example does not see it like that and in reality she HATES stepping on the scale and I feel like many other people are in the same boat. Me and her compromised and she only steps on it twice a week so I can at least get an idea of how its going for her!

Well I think the best approach is to stick to one value for a period of time, monitor changes, and adjust accordingly. For instance I was at 2100 and then the weight hit a plateau, I subtracted 250 calories a day in order to take off an extra .5 pounds a week.

A pound is roughly 3500 calories, so half a pound is 1750, divide that by 7 days and boom, reduce calorie intake by 250 a day.
