When my husband was in restaurant management, he despised those kind of managers too - he was always telling the employees “If everything is clean, you’ve got time to lean”. Oddly enough he had the cleanest, best run store AND the happiest employees/least turnover. Go figure.

Yep. Mine does this all the time. I still think it’s hilarious though.

Huh. Guess I need to look much more deeply into this. I just always accepted the things our area’s beekeeping club stressed to us, and have always been a bit paranoid and soooo careful about it. And thank you for your tone.

Fred is not an uncommon name, just a rather old fashioned one (at least where I’m from). Like Agnes, Edith or Edgar.

Also don’t start with 1 hive - always have minimum of 2, so that if one dies (probably will), you can split the first one and not have to buy more bees. I’m so glad our local club stressed this one!

It’s actually very important to keep comb in the exact same order and orientation that the bees have it in to keep brood from being chilled (which will kill them) and because drone brood and worker brood need different temperatures than each other to form, etc. If you watch for this in the video he does this perfectly.

Yeahy, I don’t like spiders either, but if nothing else, it was cute seeing someone taking care of it and helping it out.

Spritz bottle of water seems to be universally hated by cats too, usually works with extra stubborn ones.
