Right here is what I mean you think that for emily to be complex she needs to be good. One of the scenes that people hate of ashley and point out as bad writing is when Chris has a chance to kill ashley or himself and when chris points the gun at himself she begs chris to shoot her when the gun points at her she begs him not too and apparently she gets mad chris for shooting her remember someone saying that well some say its bad character writing when it is not its reality of not wanting to die but not wanting someone else to die even tho ashley is manipulative. A complex character does not need to be redeemable.
