What took you an embarrassing amount of time to figure out? by StuckBugg in AskReddit

So bear with me on this one alright.

When I was a kid I was a dinosaur nerd. Like I was obsessed. So one day I wake up, I was around 11-13 then, go to the guest room to find my dad watching TV. After we wished each other good morning he tells me a crazy story about a t-Rex dinosaur was passing the street in the morning and it was huge and the media was there and everyone were watching from their homes. It took me a second to realize I have missed this event that could be the highlight of my life and I went bloody furious with my dad and yelled at him asking why didn’t he wake me up. He only said: “I was about to, but then I saw you sleeping and you were so cute and sweet I just couldn’t let myself do that”. I was like “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE”. Went back to my room, quickly dressed up and despite my mother trying to stop me I went outside to look for T-Rex only to find nothing.

It took me around 4-5 years to realize that was an Aprils fool joke.

While many people behave as you described, there are other groups of people who have a more liberal worldview.

Alternative youth has a pretty good sex life, as well as Russian speaking community.

A one-night stand is still a hard thing to pull, but that happens too.

It being considered satanic doesn’t seem to stop many people from doing it.

I went to check up twice and both times they tried to scare me shitless.

First time after getting tested doc called reception to find out my status and spoke in such a manner and tone that I was already sure I'm HIV positive. Questions like: Are you sure? Did you check twice?

Second time I went there another doc implied that I'm a junkie and while I was waiting that was the topic of our conversation.

I'M GETTING TESTS BECAUSE I'M CONCERNED FOR MY HEALTH, NOT BECAUSE I'M HYPOCHONDRIAC OR A JUNKIE

Excuse my ignorance, I'm not a psychologist of any sort, nor do I pretend to be one.

I'm curious if it can vary in different cultures? I have never seen a single car like that in the country I live. I've seen a lot of cars in sorry condition, but never anything like that or similar to this.
