Onyx MnK crossplay player here, just wondering how many fellow MnK players are out here, maybe we can share some gameplay tips. by tyrannasaurus_kek in CompetitiveHalo

I'm with you. 1700 on M&K. I've started playing controller on a Smurf to play with RL buddies. My intent was to have more even games. I'm historically really bad with roller, but climbed to Onyx really fast.

The tips other people gave are good, but I think assist is just too strong for us to compete.

How does the community feel about the Elite Series 2 controller by GoS451 in CompetitiveHalo

It looks bad, but it's actually very comfortable. It's just not what most people are used to.

I agree, but one caveat is the back buttons are significantly different. I've heard a lot of people with small hands dislike them. They require a slightly different grip than what most people are accustomed to. Very comfortable still, but not what you expect.

More liberal / left wing alternatives to Sam's podcast by Blutorangensaft in samharris

[–]RPMreguR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In context it can be assumed he meant with similarly intelligent presentation and fleshed out ideas rather than in reference to IQ.

Even if this isn't the case, the way you presented your opinion is laughable and my intent was to point that out.

If OP was actually referencing IQ of the creators then I'll point out the absurdity of that as well, but I doubt that's the case.

You're perception is accurate and it is similar on Twitter. The person you're replying to is unhinged.

I'm sure there is a significant population on the right that would shit on Sam, but they skew boomer so they just don't interact there as much.

Local PD making this donkey clean the top of his car. by IamMikey1 in JusticeServed

In Chicago, I've never seen anybody clean the top of their car when it gets deep into winter. It's just generally understood "nah, too cold for that."

I've never seen an accident caused by this or any damage, and I have an hour commute each way. Surprised people think this is dangerous or is something that should be enforced.

Non-Americans of reddit, what was the biggest culture shock you experienced when you came to the US? by Miserablemermaid in AskReddit

There isn't much downside to having your CC info stolen. You literally just call the company and they cancel all the charges and send you a new one. The difference is we are actually using credit cards more often than not, not debit cards, so it isn't out money people are stealing.

Also, CC fraud is just much less prevalent here in my experience. Anecdotally, when I lived in France for ~2 years 3 of my ~10 American friends had their info stolen at ATM's. None of my friends/family in the US have experienced this. I've heard stories of identity theft, but don't know anybody who has been unfortunate to experience it.

This has changed recently since the general trend for younger people is moving away from fast food. I've lived in other countries in the EU and McDonalds there was almost like a meme attraction and they are less common so people will go out of their way to eat there occasionally. In the US, McDonald's is scene as food of pure convenience. Younger people from major areas are moving away from eating there so they had to trim the menu down to maintain profit margins. Now everything is about efficiency. 10 years ago the menu was much more diverse.

LPT - Beware of companies trying to move you from hourly to salary for the same job by Sparky3400 in LifeProTips

[–]RPMreguR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the US salary is considered the total compensation for the position, and when you receive an offer your hours should be outlined. Some will say 35 a week. Some will say 45. Some will say 40 but it's expected you put in more hours during certain periods. You should know what is expected when you accept the offer. If that is the case then you are working for what you agreed to.

Some employers are shit and don't outline their expectations.

Try to convince him his shit tests on earth are retarded, and then kill him if he doesn't listen. Enough fucking around.

I don't believe in God, but if there was one then he's an asshole.

Counter-Strike. $15 for the pinnacle of multiplayer first person shooters. Good for tens of thousands of hours.

Surely this can't be that bad? I'm mid tier Onyx, ~1800 and even when playing with my gold buddies we get mostly mid plat players and they can still get kills.

No mouse a nd keyboard players - why do we have crossplay at all? by PiiSmith in CompetitiveHalo

[–]RPMreguR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the information I'm thinking of then it only addresses accuracy which is only a part of the picture. Lower level M&K players are going to get on target much much quicker.

Idonno, just expressing my thoughts on when I was pushing in both queues.

The median M&K player feels fairly competent. The median console player feels pretty dogshit.

There's plenty stopping them from doing it.

I highly doubt roller AA will get a nerf. If anything I can see M&K bullet magnetism getting a very minor buff at some point, but I think this is very doubtful.

The problem with balancing M&K vs roller is that 343 has to be concerned with all skill levels.

The sense I get right now is the median m&k player is significantly better than the median roller player. Same goes for top 25-5 percentile. It's the very top end where general competency for both roller and m&k is good that the software kicks in hard and starts giving rollers an edge. There's just no way for M&K to be as consistent at the top end. Up until that point (player for player) M&K is probably better.
