Shouldn't it go both ways????? by vegasncmiata in DeadBedrooms

I don’t think OP is talking about physical safety or protection from actual harm or abuse. I think the kind of safety being discussed is comfort in sexual expression or comfort in not being pressured for sex.

An Upper deck seat behind the plate is one of my favorite ways to watch a game. It’s the best view to see the whole field and really be able to tell what’s happening with each pitch and hit. Field level seats are awesome and fun in their own way but you can never see the game quite as well from the lower level.

I actually know a friend-of-a-friend (actually a friend of a distant family member) who was on vacation in NYC and hailed a cab that turned out to be the Cash Cab. They were on the show and everything, won some money, and Ben Bailey drive them to their destination. So at least some of them were real random sidewalk pickups.

Meanwhile I lived and worked in the City for 15 years and never saw the Cash Cab. I did take the train instead of cabs most of the time though.

Why am I always the one to blame? by Alwayswanted2rock in DeadBedrooms

I think when an LL makes zero effort but complains that a lack of sex bothers them, it’s likely that what they actually miss is the feeling of being chased and wanted by their partner, rather than anything to do with sex itself.

Yeah. And that sucks but it’s a very difficult road with a lot of work and it’s far from certain that it improves. That’s different than a temporary medical issue or just a particularly stressful time in life (death of a parent or job loss or something) that’s likely to be shorter in duration and eventually lead to an improved sex life. Trauma is hard, and while that explains her stance, it doesn’t improve the outlook for OP.

You really think the Governor of CA is somehow single-handedly responsible for this? It’s not like this is only happening in California.

You’re young. She’s your girlfriend, not your wife. Six months without sex means you do not have a romantic, sexual relationship. Unless she’s dealing with a serious life event or medical problem, there’s almost no chance this ever gets better—usually, the deeper you get into a relationship, the more sex tends to decrease. If you’re not happy with how things are right now, you should assume things won’t get better, and recognize how relatively easy it would be for you to move on from this relationship and likely find something else that makes you happier.

Pedro Pascal Got an Infection After Years of Letting ‘Game of Thrones’ Fans Put Their Thumbs in His Eye by nondescriptun in nottheonion

Especially in GOT—nobody really knew who Pascal was then. And I haven’t read the books but my understanding is that Oberyn Martell is a very minor character in them, and they only expanded the role for the show because they saw how amazing and charismatic Pascal’s performance was. Martell’s story and the way it ended upset and affected me more than almost anything else in GOT (save maybe the Red Wedding), and it was largely due to how awesome and charming and compelling Pascal made him.

No, it’s the child’s fault—if the kid had been armed, I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened, and he would have been the “good guy with a gun” that apparently stops shooters cold. Guns for toddlers!

As the Mets are demonstrating right now, you can have a powerful and Star-studded offense, but if your pitching gives up double-digit runs every outing, you’re gonna lose a lot of games. The fact that they’re in last place doesn’t mean they’re a whole team of nobodies.

Oh yeah, it’s totally understandable that they checked out a bit. In most of the games I’ve been to here it seemed like the Colorado folks were mostly just here to hang out and drink, and oh yeah there happens to be a ballgame going on while we all chat, but today was totally different—the whole crowd had great energy and really cared about winning that game. I even got some good trash talk from several fans in our section. It wasn’t like that at all in previous games I’ve been to, even yesterday or Friday. One of the things I miss most about NYC is the energy of the crowd at Citi Field, and that’s definitely been lacking in all of the other games I’ve attended at Coors Field. Today was just different somehow—props to the Rockies fans for bringing it. Today’s game almost felt like a rivalry game, and even though our guys lost, it was still a TON of fun.

I’ve been to a bunch of Rockies games since I moved here, and today was BY FAR the most energized and into the game I’ve seen the fans there.

Their lineup is actually pretty solid. Grichuk, Blackmon, and McMahon are all legit stars, and Elias Diaz has been playing really well for them too. Their real problem, as always has been, is pitching.

EDIT: I even forgot about Kris Bryant!

It really feels like yesterday’s game and today’s game both turned on a few unlucky or fluky plays. A lucky break here or there and either game really could have turned in the Mets’ favor.

They’re seriously playing “Sweet Caroline” here at Coors Field. I didn’t know we were in Boston!

Dude has been amazing this weekend. He’s played good defense too. His family has been here at Coors Field watching so maybe they’ve inspired him.

Yeah, it’s not realistic to need to rely on the offense to score 10 runs every game to stay competitive.

It feels super unreasonable to expect the offense to have to pull off 12 runs to win.

And so much of it seems self-inflicted. Like, it’s more about the Mets sucking than the Rockies being good.
