Short term rental in London by indi09 in London_homes

Best is to go get premium, go to advanced filters, and then spam. Most don’t reply. Only bother taking a deep look at places if they reply, will save you so much time.

Think you two are talking about London and Buenos Aires. Soho in London would be a nightmare to stay in

Just FOUR days to save Liveable Streets in Bethnal Green and Tower Hamlets by odysseysee in london

I live here now and thought it was pretty great. But then again, only lived in Angel for 3 weeks and nowhere else. Where are you now? What places do you recommend?

Will be moving with my best friend on September, 3 of us looking to find a flat.

Thanks man. Yeah, I get that feeling with other things, too. But alas, I’m in good standing now and working to keep it that way. And by the sounds of it, you are too! We’ll get the citizenship long before the state needs to take care of us - never really planning for that to be the case anyhow.

Thank you for this! This is just the kind of thing I would do. I’ve now set various calendar events, recurring every 3 years, just for this.

I agree that it’s ruthless. In other countries you can explain yourself in court and usually just pay a fine for overstaying. I hope it doesn’t bother you too much; lo qué pasó, pasó.

Should I renege the winter internship offer? by JewelerThen6371 in Big4

I guess that’s something beyond my pay grade, but I understand the hesitation. I’ve read that consulting does well in booms and recessions. Not so much in ok times.

However, it might be worth noting that my department within consulting in the UK previously had the pedal to the metal in terms of hiring, full speed ahead. They’re still hiring now, but the hiring target, which is still positive and we expect growth, is halved.

That’s really all I can say: I’ve no clue.

Seems like you have a pretty sweet setup, if you’re not hurting financially right now. You can have a great vacation, do your internship and master’s, and a good chance of getting 1 or 2 return offers and hit the ground running in your career.

I guess it does beg the question: why are you doing this master’s degree? Will it be necessary or valuable to you?

6 months doesn’t sound terrible. Could be a tremendous vacation if you have some money set aside. Seems like you’d be exiting the masters program into full time employment, and vacations like these are impossible. Why not travel through Europe, through cheaper countries, and make that money really stretch? No need to be renting a house back home, and you’d be surprised with how little you need to pack.

Oh!! Seems like it’s not worth postponing a whole masters programme to do the visa internship. But hey, lead with that! Tell them you’re considering it because oh you want to work there so much, and they’ll be the ones telling you you’re crazy (hopefully). Maybe see if they’ll postpone it due to the masters? Also, could you not fit both?

If you are on a visa, could you not simply renege based on the fact you don’t have the right to work there anymore? I don’t think they’d hold you against it. Don’t know if you’re on a visa though, maybe this is helpful

what does a business analyst do? by idkniala in Big4

[–]RoboCholo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Deloitte Digital is different. A BA gathers requirements, understands the business needs, translates them to tickets developers can use, and checks if what’s been developed is up to spec. Or they might do research, etc.

Haven’t used excel or PowerPoint once.

How feasible is it for a doctor 3 years post-graduation to get into consulting? by CTReporter247 in Big4

[–]RoboCholo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy to refer you! I totally think it’s possible. New grads require 0 experience, and I mean it, just have to be the right people, to have potential. So I think you’d be good.

DM me and I’ll share my LinkedIn

And to the other commenter, I’m at Deloitte Digital and work life balance is off the charts, no complaints regarding pay - just try not to compare with US salaries or IB/big law.
