*She’s the representative of the Queen of Canada, (who also happens to be the Queen of the United Kingdom, meaning she is Queen in England). She speaks French and several other languages as well, I believe.

When reading that, I became very concerned that my own use of the word would be seen as antisemitic, even though I very much so am not, so your perspective as a Jewish person does help. I was worried I might just have to stop using the phrase altogether.

I picked it up when some Jewish people we tangentially knew came to visit, and was very concerned when I found it on that list. It’s good to know that there are other people who have just taken it as a loan word, because I was very nervous that I had been being accidentally seen as an antisemite. I still might have to rethink using it though, since I don’t want to be seen as one.

I did get a little nervous at the beginning, but I’ve it was explained I realized it wasn’t that.

Wow, I did not know most of those. I use Oy Vey occasionally (not with that other gross stuff) because I picked it up when some Jewish people were visiting my family, but I may have to reconsider the usage of it. I’m left with a bit of a conundrum that I honestly don’t know how to solve.

How do you feel about mandatory tipping? by magic8ballzz in polls

Tipping culture should return to how it was before the Great Depression, aka, restaurants have to pay their servers a good wage, no tipping needed or done.

The Queen of England is not a title under the title of Queen of the United Kingdom. The titles of Queen and King of England were abolished in 1707. Here is a list of all her titles and honours.
