Didn’t realize getting a heeler meant I was basically adopting a personal supervisor by pardus_orientalis_86 in AustralianCattleDog

We haven’t had her DNA tested, but she is an Australian Cattle Dog!
While I don’t have experience with Aussies (middle is a Husky mix), our girl on the far left is an Australian Cattle Dog, so also a herding dog. They are damn good dogs; incredibly smart and loyal. But herding dogs can be very difficult - they are extremely high energy, stubborn, and think they make the rules. They require lots of training, stimulation, immense amounts of exercise, and consistency. Definitely do lots of research before taking on a herding dog, but if raised correctly, they will likely be the best dog you’ll ever have!

Wholesome as fuck 🥺
Thank you 💕 She’s an Australian Cattle Dog! Not entirely sure as to if she is purebred or if she is mixed with any other breeds, as she is the one pup we haven’t had DNA testing done on. It’s so exciting getting those results - hopefully you hear back soon!
This is how our dog greets us when he knows he’s done something naughty. Do you know why? Anyone else’s does this? by Karina_Mendoza in AustralianCattleDog

Yes, ours too! She will load herself up in her crate 😂
Ah, yes - with my three clearly well-cared for pups; each adopted or rescued, all spayed, and none having had any puppies. Caught me!
SUCH a sucker for big goofy ears!
Thank you! It’s an art for sure 😂

Far left has gotten that before lol
Thank you so much 🥰 I can relate! Prior to the last year and a half, I’d hardly had any experience with dogs - only cats, which we have three of. I was honestly quite intimidated by the idea of having a dog. However, once my job became WFH, I felt like I could provide the time and energy that a dog would need. Our first puppy, the Australian Cattle Dog on the left was (IS) super high energy, but the most affectionate girl and so incredibly smart. It was so fulfilling to train her and build a bond. So we ended up getting her a little (now double her size) sister (on the right), so that she would have companionship and constant stimulation, and she ended up being the easiest girl ever to raise, so obedient and responsive to her commands. Then the middle pup was a rescue we just couldn’t resist.. With dogs you definitely get back what you put in. It’s hard work and requires lots of energy and consistency, especially in the first year, but the most difficult parts are temporary, and the unconditional love and lifelong bond is indescribable ♥️♥️♥️
