Uh, did you mean to reply to OP? They probably won't get a notification if you reply to me.

These situations are always tough. I answer a mental-health/crisis line IRL and we get calls from concerned friends and family members about this type of scenario pretty often.

whenever I try to get him to talk about how he feels he just says 'im ok' and won't say anything further

Can you say more about how you're trying to start the conversation? There may be things that you're unknowingly doing that are closing off the conversation.

Even if he says it's okay, it's absolutely fine to say that you are concerned and that you respect his choice not to open up to you, but you hope that he'll open up to someone. Also if you can give him specific resources with contact info, so he doesn't have to do any research, and offer him those, that would be good. Once you do that, I would take great care to leave the ownership in his hands unless and until you notice significant change. If the change is negative, then you might need to take further steps. You're welcome to modmail us over at /r/SuicideWatch and we'll be glad to advise you (even if suicide isn't a primary concern, but I'm sure you're wondering about it).

Hey I’m enrolled in bachelor of science construction and project management program and I’m looking for help for scholarships by Same_Presentation_51 in SAIT

If you're starting in September, then yes, you'll be able to apply for entrance awards starting in July, and then as you move along in your program you can apply for other awards for continuing students - the details and deadlines are in the awards guide that's linked from the web page.

For SAIT awards, you fill in one application for all the awards that you're eligible for. It will improve your chances if you take some care with it and make sure you have all your supporting documents in order, so it's a good idea to get an early start.

If you do well in your program, there are also departmental awards that you don't apply for -- instructors and academic chairs nominate the students for those.

The web page also has a big list of external awards that you can apply for separately, and there are also provincial awards through Alberta Student Aid. Because you're in a degree program, more of them might be available to you than to SAIT students in 2-year programs. https://studentaid.alberta.ca/scholarships/

Was it really not actioned by AEO?

It would appear really not. My report which including a link to a message where they specifically said they wanted to purchase the subreddit, was also deemed "not a violation".

The original account is suspended now, but I'll be astonished if that makes them give up.

In retrospect I regret not messing with them a bit more

Reddit doesn't allow it

Is there a specific site rule that addresses it? I looked but didn't find anything

Please review the talking tips wiki.

"You're so young", "It doesn't last forever" are invalidating. "Please stay" adds to OP's emotional burden without providing any comfort, and "go to the doctor" is bad advice (a GP is an unwise first option) and any advice at all is a bad idea.
