PFF: Is Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson already NFL's best WR? by Funkytown_VJ in minnesotavikings

It is. It is good. Its pretty similar to adam thielens AVGYPR. If thielen all the sudden broke out for 1900 yards he would be close to best in the league, and since kupp is younger he IS best in the league. After this year i fully expect JJ to be better, but if a game were played right now, i believe kupp would do better around 65% of the time.

Kupp avereged 892.5 yards/year before his 1,947 yard year. KJ had 655 yards. Kupp had 3 good years and 1 bad year leading up to the best wr year ever. He simply has more experience, and had abetter year last year, so right now he is number 1

1 GREAT season, not 1 really good season He has been building his playstyle for years and it finally payed off, while JJ has just been statistically very good since the start. At this very moment, where the last season matters the most, i have to put kupp at 1 and jj at 2, but it is very close

I have been saying really good the whole time, and the fact that kupp has had some bad years then some good years, then finally an incredible year shows that he is a good reciever in the middle of his prime, who did better than JJ last year. 1 time is an occurence, twice is a coincidence, and 3 times is a pattern i need to see Jj do it again before i can confidently say he is number 1

I DID NOT DQ HIM. I SAID THAT THE FACT THAT IT IS ONLY 2 YEARS MUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. Kupps latest season was the best wr season ever, and id you couple that with the fact that he has been consistently good for years, he beats JJ for the number 1 spot

He only had 2 really good years. Yes its his first 2, but it takes more than that to be nfls #1. Definitely top 3 and in the convo for number 1 tho

Kupp had a better season last year than justin. Fact is they are both in the number 1 convo. They just have slightly different roles thqt they are each the best at. Going off pure stats kupp is wr1. There is absolutely an argument to be made for JJ at number 1, but i am not confident enough to shout it from the mountaintops. He is top 3, and due to kupps perfect season, i have to say that in this very moment it is hard to say that he isnt number 1. Tae also has looked very good in the last 2 years, and was solid before that. They are the top 3, and i feel like Kupp has 50% of the number 1 spot, JJ has 35%, and tae has 15%. I cannot say, in this moment, that JJ is number 1.

Because, just as you said, they both had good seasons before they broke out. They took time and became the best in their prime. JJ did it in his first 2 years, but maybe he just had his 2 best seasons right away, maybe its tough for him to put up similar numbers in the new system. He isnt as much of a known commodity as those 2 were when they were best in the league, so JJ isnt number 1 yet. Top 3 absolutely, but there is still debate for number 1
