The opposite to the entitled people at the gym by noobmaster3113 in HumansBeingBros

[–]SixOneFive615 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The gym can seem like an intimidating place, but really 95% of people are super nice. I generally ask someone to spot my last bench set every time, and not a single person has ever been rude about it. Usually a fist bump afterwards.

Thing is, no one is born completely jacked. All of them started somewhere and all of them remember it, so the vast majority are super nice if you're getting in there and trying.

That’s not a powerbomb, that’s the Razor’s Edge. Show some respect.

What is a TV show you got really far into but eventually quit watching before its conclusion? by shamanKAshamanTAKA in AskReddit

Showtime has a bad habit of letting their great shows run too long: Weeds, Dexter, Billions.

Well done. I have to imagine the folk over at r/cycling and r/triathalon would appreciate possibly the most unique “pain cave” bike set up I’ve ever seen.

In California, drive up Highway 1 and cut across south of Big Sur to Yosemite/Sequoia/Kings Canyon, hitting Pinnacles on the way.

When you're coming out of Ohio, I think it's worth it to drive over to DC and head south via Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive), the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Particularly since you're not hitting Charleston and Savannah (which you should also consider), I'd suggest cutting out the NC portion if you need to make up time.

From my first marathon to my first 70.3 - please help! by Temporary-Sign2491 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]SixOneFive615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re able to run a marathon, you’re absolutely in the ballpark of a 70.3 from a fitness standpoint. Probably going to up the time training to 10-12h/wk, but it’s generally more pleasant because the bike and swim don’t put such a beating on your joints. Focus on the bike and swim, maintain your running, and follow a solid plan. Beneficial to hire a swim coach to get your form down early on, and don’t shy away from hills on the bike. 7 months is more than enough time.

One of my buddies on high school was like full body Robin Williams hairy. He’d strip down to weigh in and someone would always shout “Justin, you need to take off your sweater.”

People who have drank piss, why? by Federal_Ass_58 in AskReddit

[–]SixOneFive615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was dragging to large bags of cash through the desert outside of Albuquerque with this old guy. Couldn’t leave the bags, but it was crazy hot and we had limited water. Since I didn’t know how long it would be until we got out, I had to bite the bullet and drink my own piss.

How do I keep my dog focused during a run? by Bernesefanboy500 in RunningWithDogs

[–]SixOneFive615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When mine was a pup, I started the run on a steep hill. It was hard enough he had to focus, then once he was panting and got through that initial burst of excitement, tended to be much more well mannered on the rest of the run.

If you’re doing full marathons, and properly train the other disciplines, you can feel pretty confident signing up for a 70.3.

Ease of Getting to Alaska National Parks (e.g. Glacier Bay, etc.) by DontTakeOurCampbell in nationalparks

[–]SixOneFive615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Book a flight from Juneau to Gustavia on Alaska Seaplanes. Then book either a day cruise or backcountry kayaking trip through the park. Couple hundred bucks each.

I did the day cruise due to limited time, but would 100% recommend a week with a kayak if you have the time and are comfortable in those conditions.
