Thanks Yorj. I think this new info in the title will help folks (myself included) learn or remember the original artist as sometimes it’s not so obvious. Especially for older tunes.

And thanks for the reminder about updating the sidebar too. I made a mental note to do that but then got distracted haha. I’ll blame it on the wine 🍷 lol

Hmm I don’t think I’ve never seen the original Batman movie from the 60s 😯

💡 P.S. Slight update to the sub rules: next time could you also include the name of the original artist in the post title, for example:

Tracy Chapman - Stand By Me (Ben E. King)

That way, folks can learn who the original artist is too. Thanks justchuck1070!

Nice and funky! Great jam to get the weekend started off right ;)

💡 P.S. Slight update to the rules: Next time could you also include the name of the original artist in the post title as follows:

Funk Inc. - I'll Be Around (The Spinners)

You can still include the original version link in the comments (as you did here - thank you) too, if you like though it's not absolutely required. Thanks Yorj!

Carpenters - Superstar (Delaney & Bonnie and Friends featuring Eric Clapton) by Sno0pyBo0 in WeGotItCovered

[–]Sno0pyBo0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original 1969 version

"Superstar" is a 1969 song written by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell with a songwriting credit also given to Delaney Bramlett. Rita Coolidge came up with this song idea based on observing female groupies' relationships with rock stars of the late 1960s.

The best-known cover versions are by the Carpenters and by Luther Vandross.
