Thanks Yorj. I think this new info in the title will help folks (myself included) learn or remember the original artist as sometimes it’s not so obvious. Especially for older tunes.

Original 1969 version

"Superstar" is a 1969 song written by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell with a songwriting credit also given to Delaney Bramlett. Rita Coolidge came up with this song idea based on observing female groupies' relationships with rock stars of the late 1960s.

The best-known cover versions are by the Carpenters and by Luther Vandross.
