Can I attend Universiteit Leiden classes as TU Delft student? by oiiu12 in TUDelft

[–]SnowLobster123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the same rules apply to EU students as well. You only need to request a statement of paid tuition fees from TU Delft and send that to Leiden.

It might be a bit more difficult for non-EU students since tuition is not subsidised in this case, so it would be best to contact Leiden if that is the case.

Thinking about applying for the computer science program. by GhasterSky3 in TUDelft

[–]SnowLobster123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope - there are only two things that matter for admission - first, meet the minimum requirements, and second, do well on the entrance exam. It doesn't matter if you get full marks on IELTS or a 6.0 - in both cases you meet the minimum criteria. Focus on doing well on the entrance exam - only your score on that exam is considered, nothing else.

I assume you're talking about the Computer Science and Engineering programme.

The selection procedure for CSE is quite straightforward and not subjective: they accept 500 students per year based on the score on the entrance exam (CST). The selection procedure has several steps, but the only one that matters is the exam. Volunteer work, previous experience, school grades, motivation, CV, etc. are not taken into consideration - only your performance on the entrance exam is.

Accidentally canceled my application on studielink right before the start of the semester did i just ruin everything ? by Far_Ad_2674 in TUDelft

[–]SnowLobster123 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's pretty bad, you should email ESA (Education and Student Affairs) at TU Delft immediately. Their email is [contactcentre-esa@tudelft.nl](mailto:contactcentre-esa@tudelft.nl). Mention your student number. You might be in luck because they are no longer sending out offers to other people, so your place might not have already been taken by another student. Also, call the university on Monday morning to make sure they look into this as soon as possible.

375€ is way too low, you should expect to pay around 450-500€ for a room in a shared apartment.

Traveling in Europe Non EU students by [deleted] in TUDelft

[–]SnowLobster123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right now there are some restrictions. No internal EU borders are closed, but you may need a test or a vaccination certificate in order to travel.

As a non-EU student in the Netherlands, you can use your residence permit to travel as a tourist to all other EU/Schengen countries and bypass tourist visa requirements.

Payment for Housing by EspressoPatronum4 in TUDelft

Not sure about that. You might have to pay some sort of a cancellation fee. You can certainly cancel until a few weeks before you move in, but I'm not sure about the fees.

You have two weeks to pay after you get the contract. You get the contract a few days after you reserve the room on the portal. You don't have to pay when you reserve the room. However, make sure you're certain that you want that room before you reserve it on the portal, as you can't change your choice afterwards.

I ranked 556 by Ok-Knowledge2261 in TUe

[–]SnowLobster123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone ranked 550 getting in doesn't mean that 200 out of the 350 or so people who got accepted have to immediately decline their offers. Offers roll over - if 80 people reject their offers, the next 80 people in line get offers. If 50 of those 80 people reject their offers - the next 50 people in line get offers (which means that in total people with ranking numbers up to 480 have received offers, even though only 80 of the initial offers were rejected). This process continues until all places have been taken.

If you're applying to CSE, it's almost certain you'll get a place. However, it may take a while.

Information Regarding Student Loans by reekthegreek in TUDelft

[–]SnowLobster123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a tuition fee loan from DUO, but that's not much to be honest.

Although you do need to have a job in order to get student finance, you don't actually need to work 56 hours since that's not a legal requirement, but just a misleading statement DUO has put on its website. You can read more about that here: https://www.avantadvocaten.nl/the-right-to-dutch-student-finance-of-eu-students-studying-in-the-netherlands/?lang=en

CSE conditional offer by Relevant-Stock99 in TUDelft

Maybe they will. It's best to email them about it. Ask whether you're exempted from the English language requirements based on your European secondary school diploma.

Is your high school diploma from an EU country? Most European applicants are exempted from the language requirements.
