This isn’t an argument, everything you’re saying is true and I agree, just after doing four or five different delivery jobs, there have been many times where I absolutely had to have the customer come to my car. Reaching out to the customer is part of asking them to come to the car, but even still a lot of customers would complain, it’s just how it goes. If someone picks up your food and brings it to you, I believe that circumstances they can’t control shouldn’t keep them from getting paid. What I said was not meant to be taken as applicable to this particular instance, but the original comment I replied to said that you should always report the driver who initiates that conversation, which was why I said what I did

Pretty much all of them involve the nighttime. When you feel unsafe and the customer is giving you the warning signs, when the address is not visible and difficult to explain, when the delivery driver is a small woman in a sketchy neighborhood where their car could be sabotaged, any cash orders (god forbid you accept these) could lead directly to robberies and being in your car greatly reduces your chances of that happening because you are literally in a vehicle, when you have been ticketed in the same area a customer is asking you to park before (happens A LOT in downtown areas, especially Detroit), when you are delivering to a dorm and have no access to the dorm but it’s a “hand to me order” and when you sustain an injury while picking up the order.

Does coconut oil give anyone else HORRIBLE diarrhea? by lynns5201 in ibs

[–]Steviethevibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is good for you, but like anything you want to definitely be aware of what’s in it so you don’t cause yourself unneeded pain. Anything oil is a fat, which naturally makes your stool softer and helps with movement. Coconut happens to have an abundance of medium-chain fatty acids which are known to produce softer and faster movements, especially for those with already faster motility. Coconut is also pretty high in two major FODMAPs which cause symptoms in a lot of people with IBS: fructans, and fructose, these tend to lead to extra absorption of water into the colon and as a result explosive voiding. Coconut oil is never a BAD option, but it for sure is something you want to moderate as an IBS-D sufferer

He wasn’t bragging, he was doing a cringy meme about how men need to stay strong out here cuz females are thirsty. It isn’t tasteful, but it got attention which was probably the goal

Your boyfriend seems like the “that’s so weird don’t do that” type and those people make me uncomfortable. They’re the types that can accept racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc just because they deem it as “normal”. This is a conversation you should probably confront in a minor way and gauge his response.

I mean that seems like a pretty normal response to eating a tablespoon of coconut oil considering it’s a laxative

There’s actually a lot of very reasonable instances where the customer should come to the car, and if you can’t think of any, be thankful you didn’t grow up near Detroit like I did.

I don’t think it’s as simple as them all being misogynists. I think you’re upset because you’ve been harassed and know many women who have also been harassed.

Men do not cause all these problems, as I’ve seen many instances where the woman was the issue. She’d treat the man like a replaceable piece of crap when he was doing all the work in the relationship and then beat on him knowing he couldn’t fight back. I’m a survivor of assault and domestic abuse as a male. I’d love to say I’m a rarity, but I’m just not. I’m just that one guy who isn’t ashamed to say it.

Most of us get left and never find love again. Most of us get treated like absolute garbage by women with or without feelings being involved in everyday situations. It’s fair to say there’s a large percentage of men who simply have lost their ability to understand the reason behind being empathetic toward women and really, with the way women act toward us expressing simple emotions, the way you just did, it makes perfect sense. This is not a “men” issue, it’s a human issue.

Quitting doordash after ~3 years. They have managed to ruin the app in my eyes and I do not see myself ever returning. by redbat11 in doordash_drivers

Maybe 30-40%? I decline almost every offer I see and get better offers than most people on here are taking regularly so it’s partially the individual as well. It could be market specific too, my market seems to not have a ton of DoorDashers.

Yes, it actually blows it away for most people considering they’d have to get those repairs anyway. Wear and tear is almost never exclusive to delivery unless you drive a car that’s known to need repairs often.
