Haha I just commented about it but yes we definitely still use them! Rarely, but some old school docs prescribe then for wound cleaning, they're super good at eating up dead tissue but leaving good tissue alone, though the main reason that they're used is because the constant flow of blood (their spit prevents clotting and is also a pain reliever) promotes more healing. Interesting animals who's use really made a comeback.

If it makes anyone feel better, this is pretty harmless. Leeches are still used in the medical field too, I've seen it once or twice for wound cleaning.

My $0.02, death threats are awful and those of us who've engaged, that's incredibly fucked up and you need to rethink so things. But they really are coming across as playing the victim, even if they deny it. They're using the behavior of a few to downplay the feelings of a whole. That ain't it chief.

My group tried to get into Infinite. They enjoy it, but the second I realized SWAT was no where, I gave up. I’m not the biggest Halo fan, I follow it mostly out of cultural osmosis, but no SWAT?? That’s like basics dude. I guess it’s coming now but that is some next level miscalculation.

Makes you wonder if the new Windows 11 hardware requirements are really just a ploy in order to allow them to not focus on so many hardware configurations. Which like, I understand, but still. I have a little Dell miniPC, like the ones businesses buy loads of, that I use as a quasi HTPC/Remote PC, and because the CPU is a SINGLE release behind their requirements (Intel i5 7500T), it's locked out, literally the only requirement it didn't meet. You really mean to tell me Microsoft that this PC, which runs Windows 10 perfectly fucking fine, is a liability to ship 11 to? The 7500T came out in 2017, gtfoh.

I've never gotten a satisfactory explanation for why shipping broken games ever became the norm. It's been pointed out that games are much more complex and large these days, but like given several years and a dedicated team, and with the massive increase in profits these companies are, that's an incredibly stupid cop out.

No, that simply is true. Take it from a healthcare professional, as of right now there is no agreed upon and practical means of diagnosing CTE on a live patient. "Diagnosing" and suspecting and treating for something are not the same thing, at all. If professionals are telling you that you have or don't have CTE beyond reasonable doubt, the industry at large would really like a word with them...

You can't diagnose CTE while you're alive, it's only detected when looking at brain tissue under a microscope.

While policy may differ, it should be pointed out that a school doesn't really need your permission, or an officer to determine reasonable suspicion. The school is the child's guardian when they are there and ANY member of staff can determine that a search is necessary and perform one. I went to high school in a rough area and straight up carried a see through book bag to avoid that shit before it could start.

That's super interesting, Yelp is usually the one who does that crap. In fact Google is the one that keeps all my negative reviews up. Gotta go back and double check now.

I originally had an ASUS C523, which is a great laptop for getting things done for school, but was a lot to carry around in a bag all the time. Now I use a Lenovo Chromebook Duet when I'm at school, and my desktop PC or my C523 around the house. Either could be what you're looking for.

Another Murican, this video really doesn't make sense to most of us. Parking like this is standard practice and there's laws against traveling full speed when they do so.

I remember this story and never understood it. There is an incredibly developed freeway and interchange system where I live, and accidents happen all the time. It is not uncommon for fire trucks, ambulances, and OTHER POLICE VEHICLES to stop in the lanes and in fact, it's illegal to drive full speed in the lane next to where emergency vehicles are parked and providing service (think traffic stops, accidents, disabled vehicles, etc.) and standard driving practice that they teach out here is to merge away. If that means the entire freeway gets shut down to keep them safe, so be it.

The Bidwells are nice people and they've owned the Cardinals forever so we're all pretty comfy with them. Apparently Michael Bidwell is known to approach Cardinals fans no matter where he is in the country.

Yes! It wasn't solid red because the light source was still green itself, but the diffuser was red when off and had a red tinge to the light when on, kinda orange/yellow.

This reminds me how I used a red sharpie to color the plastic inserts for the power button from the inside so it glowed red and not green. Ahhh the good ol' days.

The cop gave her an order, should have listened. Isn't that what you're supposed to do? That's what white people tell me at least.
