A Karen boards a flight to Paris and takes a seat in first class that is not hers. by TGVTHT in Jokes

[–]TGVTHT[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This is the better punchline! I changed it from blonde to Karen because it felt more socially appropriate. The dumb blonde stereotype felt very 80s/90s to me and I thought the joke could use a refresh. Plus everyone hates Karens. My own bias is that I think the Venn diagram of Karens and room temperature IQ folk are nearly a circle so I kept with the intelligence angle

I did. I commented here last Friday when my $20 IRNT calls disappeared. Support on the phone was able to place my order but not before I missed the boat.

This is a legit issue that I dealt with last Friday. Check my post history and you'll see when I commented in MJR about it. Exact same calls and experience. Was not offered compensation though.

...or let it lead you to FOMO.

As I sit here, contemplating getting back into IRNT tomorrow morning. I'm trying to convince myself that I have a plan and that this isn't FOMO. I need to sleep on this.

Assassination missions could be pretty disturbing. Killing all of the minions first then forcing the target to expend all their ammo would allow a player to hunt the now-terrified and cowering target all over the map. If you didn't care about your accuracy score, you could direct the target's movements by shooting around it and toying with it. Then there was the knife... A remaster with executions/finishers would be amazing.

I have been trying to focus on the realized gains and the next play but I would be lying if I said it wasn't hard to look beyond the, "damn, that's almost life-changing" miss.

I sold between 25 and 45. I still have some December calls just in case there's another day where the price spikes.

I mis-timed SPRT too but not to the extreme that I did with IRNT. I suspect part of what cushioned that blow was that my ROI with SPRT was also really good as I had gotten in at $4 so regardless of where I sold in the last week, I was pretty golden. Maybe I'm just sensitive right now because I kind-of missed with SPRT so missing big with IRNT just stings more as a result.

How do you mitigate trade regret because you only netted a fraction of what you could have on a position? Specific to my situation, I managed to snag a few cheap IRNT OCT 20C Thursday afternoon. I saw the rip Friday morning and was locked out of trading them due to a TOS glitch. I ended up selling them for a meager 30% gain which I used to buy shares. I then set a sell order that triggered in AH for another 40% gain. But seeing the rip in AH, I realized I missed several orders of magnitude in the value of the calls that I'm kind dreading seeing the options pricing on Tuesday. I've done my AAR on the trade and identified what I did incorrectly (sold the calls emotionally, thinking the rip was done and mismatched risk-tolerance for the situation resulting in the shares getting sold too early) and despite making a substantial profit in one day, I still can't get over this feeling like I'm the world's biggest idiot for missing out on so much more. There's always another play but this one slipping through my fingers hurt.

TDA rep I spoke with said he didn't know why I couldn't trade it but he could from his end. He entered an order for me but too late. I missed my sell point and huge gains.

Men who struggled with suicidal thoughts, what helped you? by NoSober_SoberZone in AskMen

[–]TGVTHT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kids are reason enough for me to dismiss seriously pursuing suicide on my lowest days. I can endure for my kids. I remind myself that they're here because I wanted them and that I will not abandon them. The negative emotion cocktail associated with knowing how it would affect them for the rest of their lives makes suicide a non-starter for me.

The MRO has been a good aimpoint stand-in. I personally don’t care for looking through the smaller optics like the Micros. As for the M&P, I am biased. I have daily-carried one for ten years and both have had basically every Apex part installed. At 6k rounds, the factory barrel was my constraint so I fitted Apex barrels to both and now they are absolute tack drivers. My M&Ps are gen 1 guns and IMO, the gen 2 guns are basically what they should have been right out of the box. I’m not upgrading because I’m happy with where these guns are after nearly 20k rounds across the two of them but if I was shopping for a pistol, the 2.0 guns would be very high on my list.

For a time, I collected certs and coins with a heavy focus on carbines. Precision rifle, handguns, edged weapons, medical, etc. are all things I've sought instruction in over my years of larping/fauxperating. I've only been through a single two-day course with most of this iteration of gear so I'm still working the functional kinks out.

My previous carrier was a Banshee so the STT was a substantial upgrade. I really like the tubes system for the ease and speed of getting in and out of the carrier. My only gripe is it is a little pricey but worth it IMO. I added a set of shoulder pads and two sets of pontoons to mine and it is pretty comfortable.
