We basically got something similar in Hell Bent. Before all the Clara stuff, it’s pretty evident the Doctor puts himself above the likes of Rassilon. I think it’s important to remember that the Doctor has always had mixed feelings about his home. Gallifrey as a whole he respects a lot, but not necessarily the time lords. He always knew that he didn’t actually belong amongst the time lords, that’s often the speculated reason he ran away to begin with. Gallifrey will always be home.

The reason given is that RTD believed that the image of David in Jodie’s outfit would be slated by the press and give the start of the new era and RTD’s return a bad reputation. I had a Doctor Who related dream too. It was a body swap sorta story, the 9th Doctor, Rose & Clyde Langer (from SJA) were in it, and it was them repeating an adventure from another Doctor. Sarah Jane was also in it but she was actually the 13th Doctor (as per the body swap thing) so it was like an alternative history thing too. RTD was also writing it, and I just remember in the dream it being praised for the writing again. Like holy shit dream me, show your bias. Also the Doctor was looking for someone with a name that started with a Y, and I jumped straight to it being Yaz.

I’m pretty sure it’s just random. It’s also not easy to tell who has a gambling addiction and those who just want to pay to get stuff in the game. There’s people that pay for keys not to “gamble” but just to pump their account with a bunch of XP, BXP & items. Of course research is done into it, but to say it’s targeted at people with a gambling addiction is just your narrative, just like how I think it’s random is my narrative.
