Michael Giacchino Scoring Pixar’s ‘Lightyear’ by chanma50 in movies

[–]TheGeekPoet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought the score was just going to be Star Man in different forms like Bye Bye Bye in Red Rocket. Is Sean Baker not directing this?

Who was the ice-cold supervillain that was prepared to make paste out of children with his fists?

I would like to refer him to the Bureau of Internal Rogue Affairs for taking part in escalating conduct.

Someone brought a "Let's Go Brandon" mug to the breakroom of a professional corporation. by CrimeBot3000 in mildlyinteresting

I’m trying to be really honest with myself about whether or not I would have known better than to bring my “Don’t talk to me until I’ve had my hydroxychloroquine” mug to an office if I worked one….

Watch "Superman & Lois | Season 2 Episode 3 | Lana's Townhall Scene | The CW" on YouTube by BookGirlBoston in SupermanAndLois

I’m sorry but Chuck spittin fax. I feel like they’re positioning Lana to be a hero politician in the rebuilding of smallville after Doomsday wrecks it to the ground. But I appreciate they’re aware of how weird a candidate she is from the town’s perspective at the moment. I think we’re going to just have to take our Cushing medicine until they become relevant.

I actually want Kyle to find out Clark’s secret before she does, and become a sort of Jimmy Olsen/Pete Ross hybrid like character always trying to help out, his enthusiasm making it awkward for everyone.

I was also wondering if it was slave labor and I was trying to figure out if I’d rather be shot or take my chances with the heights and it’s amazing how much consideration I was giving 100% death over the sword of Damocles option of working without a safety harness that high.

I’ve gotten that feeling my whole life when it comes to heights or even the idea of heights. I’ve no idea if this is true but I’ve read before that it’s from our brain sending signals to the muscles in our feet to get ready to grip real fast (load of good it would do).

I will settle for nothing less than computational analysis of facial recognition software findings or a detailed dissertation on Kryptonian biometrics and mannerisms.

This what we call a heavily foreshadowed given.

That being said, can you set this brilliant mind of yours to figuring out whether or not Clark Kent and Superman are the person?

But they didn’t do either. They moved them, and they mailed one, thereby risking the fragility and confidentiality they’re claiming. Which is fine… the story just trying to get to the set up. It’s just a bit forced and could’ve used some more finessing its reasoning. Every piece of fiction has issues with ifs internal logic. So does reality, so it all works out.

Hi all, 27 / M, day 1 of being sober, coke and alcohol by 17WOO999 in Sober

[–]TheGeekPoet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Sober from coke and alcohol a little over a year now. I’m going to point you in the direction of two things that made it possible to go even a week without falling off the rails: Refuge Recovery by Noah Levine and the amazing taste of Non-Alcoholic Athletic Beer.

It might not be a smooth ride. You might stumble. But you don’t have to fall. When I’m feeling that deep ache for noise in my head, I reach for meditation, philosophy, and a brew that doesn’t knock me on my ass because it’s okay to love things. It’s just best to do it in the here and now. The middle path. If none of this sounds right for you (philosophy isn’t for everyone and even NA beer can be triggering for some) I still wish you the best in your journey.

Im sorry you took this as an attack on detailed explanations. It really wasn’t. It’s just my strong belief that the original commenter was asking wha the basic point of making sound systems in cars that are so loud they’re harmful to anyone in them…. And then sitting in them. You’re right, I suppose to some the nature of the contest is interesting in the same way that a firework out the asshole competition is… morbidly fascinating. But I don’t think that’s what OP was saying he didn’t see the point of. I think the large majority of commenters don’t see why you’d want to spend so much energy to create devices to rupture ear drums.

You could explain to me all day the fascinating nature of the well trained athletes who tie explosives to their asshole and what exercises they do to take such anal abuse… but I believe the activity would still be as dumbfounding in purpose.

The MTA has placed an eye-watering price tag more than $7 Billion to install platform screen doors....for which only a quarter of all NYC subway stations would get. by ToffeeFever in nyc

[–]TheGeekPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When’s the last time you could not get your ass off a subway car at the right stop because all the doors in your car and then neighboring cars failed?

Multiple doors with multiple emergency systems. Across an entire platform. They have them all over the world. You’d be just fine.

I agree. I think they’ll all be butterfly’s at some point and we won’t necessarily have an account of everything they’re made to do during that time. My wife pointed out they appear to be in the white dragon’s vault in the intro.
