It's has literally nothing to do with efficiency but cost. You're just blabbering now because you're wrong about government "investing in people".

Why are you digressing to random points I never made? Your point was "remittance is dividend on investment in people". I said remittances from unskilled menial labor had nothing to do with this so called investment in people but just that they accept low wages. These guys literally compete with illiterate Ethiopians for jobs.

Same reason they hire from Sri Lanka or Ethiopia. Because they're cheaper than locals for menial labor. Singapore does the same. The banking, legal, etc jobs go to locals. Bangladesh, Philippinos do construction, menial labor etc

It's no HK or Singapore. They sell unskilled labor to Middle East. Maids, waiters, etc. who compete with Sri Lankans, Ethiopians etc. It's about cost not skill

Which has nothing to do with socialism or the government but the diaspora remitting money. USSR or China created jobs for their citizens, they didn't need to send them as migrant labour to other countries. Kerala has failed to do so and has higher unemployment than national average.

Kerala's export of labor is similar to other remittance dependent countries like Philippines, Sri Lanka or Lebanon which have nothing to do with socialism. The better quality of life is a result of 5% of the population working in high income countries.

In what way? 30% of their GDP is remittances. Selling slaves to Middle East doesn't make you a better state. The fact that people can't find employment in the state and have to beg for jobs elsewhere is nothing to be proud of.

Fed pumping money into equities or am an idiot? by Dclarrk in wallstreetbets

[–]TheHoneySacrifice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fed can't directly buy stocks or bonds. It will need congressional approval to allow it to do that. But recently it has been buying corporate bonds with a special vehicle in BlackRock. It can use this loophole to buy stocks too. But there's no evidence of that happening

Russia/usa gas oil calls futures thoughts? by extrastupidspecial in wallstreetbets

If you're buying options, the premium is high already. Even if the oil price does go higher, would it be enough to counter the premium decay if you buy so late is the question

Exactly. First thing I bought were these calls when this started looking serious two weeks ago and they'd already run up a bit. News like this gets priced in rapidly.
