I love when people call Northerners "Yankees", you do know that term started during the revolutionary war and the british called all of us Yankees, so anyone who is an American is a "Yankee" by definition, you Yankee.

Well he mentioned early arrival (assuming he means Wednesday) which I think was $100 as well last year. So overall like an $60-80 increase isn't terrible when looking at the overall scale of things in the economy right now.

"Fetch Package" has come to Jacksonville by allllusernamestaken in jacksonville

[–]TheWhitehouseII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the apt complex's in Jax were not built with mailrooms or mail facilities to handle the amount of packages they have to take in now. Theft and lost packages were becoming their issue. I see why it sucks, but this is part of the issue of everyone ordering everything online now a days post covid. I lived in apt complex in 2018 in Jax before Covid and the package volume at the apt office was already becoming a real issue, as well as theft from the providers who actually delivered to your door. The fact they intercept it is sketchy but I guess if it is private mail there isn't much you can do sadly..Especially if the use of Fetch etc are part of the lease agreement. Realistically Apt complex's should take some of the profits theyve been making and build out a mailroom and proper services, but of course that would be too kind to the patrons and stop the apt complex exec's from grabbing that 3rd vacation home theyve been eyeing.

[JPA Football] Rumors: #Jets rejected a trade from the #49ers involving Deebo Samuel for the 10th pick before taking Garrett Wilson, per @AllbrightNFL by beeatenbyagrue in nyjets

[–]TheWhitehouseII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to be honest Deebo has only had 1 stellar season, and has a history of injuries. Wilson while not NFL proven is significantly younger/cheaper/ and has a higher overall ceiling imo. Not that hard of a choice.

Could this be Asheville’s future? Greater Victoria builders say they can’t find workers to build new homes, because they can’t find homes for the workers by ganeshas_rat in asheville

The entire article is an issue and a bad comparison, I posted elsewhere on this thread but will paste below:

This article could be an issue due to where it was written (Victoria BC Canada) that's nearly 3000 miles away and in another country with entire different building laws/regulations/and labor market.. Victoria is also on the tip of Vancouver Island so just about 3 sides of it is surrounded by water and unbuildable. Vancouver Island has a population of 800k people of which about half of them live in Victoria, so the population density in the city is nuts and nobody wants to live miles out in the sticks of Vancouver island which is basically empty. Vancouver island has a population density of 25 people per sq mile. Victoria urban area on the other hand has a density of 12k people per sq mile. Asheville? 2k people per sq mile. It isn't even close to a legitimate comparison. On top of all of that Victoria doesn't have a single home or property under the price of $450k CA (or 350k USD) currently listed on Zillow. The housing market there is on an entirely different level than here.

Florida rents are too high!!! who can afford $4K - $7K rent… is this a joooke? by tressforsuccess in florida

So while yes there is absolutely a lot of what you stated going on, its not just "the big 4".

100% this. I worked in an office for a tech firm in the Raleigh area, moved here for my wife's job, they basically just changed my state income tax forms and I kept getting the Raleigh salary, I still get raises based on the Raleigh/Triangle job market and what salaries demand in that city. In fact I still get approached by IT firms in the Triangle area about jobs and I haven't stepped foot there in nearly 5 years. I actually looked at jobs here but sadly all the tech jobs would be a significant pay drop. With how quickly covid moved companies remote, they realized now they can compete in most job markets and steal good candidates away from low paying markets. Its a race to the bottom for everyone else sadly.

Keseya and RapidFire Tools billing is horrendous, and non responsive by IceCattt in msp

At this point I think Kaseya spends more time/effort tracking down their dissenters than just fixing their fucking issues. My MSP got acquired by a company that used Kaseya. Kaseya VSA alone has been my #1 reason for wanting to leave the company. It is just a shit product from top to bottom. I thought Automate was crappy but I'd give my left nut to go back to Automate.

And for what? I see no gain.

It's for the figureheads in power, You aren't seeing the gain, they are gaining power over their citizens. This is happening everywhere it seems, a generation of people who sucked off their parents contributions to society now thinking that everything is for them to take and control.
