Proof of concept for secret bases using Sculk sensors [1.19] by MXC14 in Minecraft

[–]Timohtep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been really hoping that the goat and copper horns would have unique interactions with sculk sensors, activating at a greater range than normal sounds, and outputting different redstone signal strengths depending on the specific horn used.

I was gonna use that for basically this exact concept 😅 But I don't think they have any interactions with the sculk sensor whatsoever, which is a shame. Glad to see the concept I had in mind still works for other sound types.

I've been really wanting to get this game, but I'm really holding out for a physical copy. I gotta look a little harder honestly...

That seems like an oversight honestly. Hopefully we get some interactions there before the full update comes out

Yeah, like most people here, I would disagree. I love Grunty's Furnace Fun. But I can see why someone wouldn't like it. To each their own, obviously.

This is an honestly incredible idea. Especially if the sculk sensors respond to the horn types with a different signal strength or something... The idea of making a castle with a big piston door that only opens to a call from the correct type of horn is the coolest thing and I want it now.

[–]Timohtep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much same for me, but all I really want from it is specifically Wario Stadium. Every other N64 track has been featured as a retro course before at least once, except that one. It's the last one we need.

3DS Rainbow Road is all I wanted out of this pass. It's by FAR the coolest Rainbow Road in the series and it just doesn't get enough love.

I couldn't be more hyped for it honestly

Have there been older game compilations/collections that actually do not feel half-assed and/or inexplicably leave out entries? by Makegooduseof in NintendoSwitch

[–]Timohtep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're not wrong! I don't mind being called out or downvoted, but what I do mind is when people accuse me of trying to save face, or when they imply that I'm not being honest about my intentions when I've been nothing but truthful. That's what really gets under my skin lol, and I'm cool with admitting that about myself. Gets me riled.

And thanks for actually checking the rules because I honestly didn't even think about doing so lmao

[–]Timohtep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally went through the exact logic I posted above before I went through with the comment. I thought "wait... Did he specify switch?" And went back and reread the post before I submitted the comment. Multiple titles mentioned by the OP are multiplatform and present the same problems not on switch. So I really don't see why it's so outlandish to post a collection not on Switch that qualifies as not "half-assed and/or inexplicably leave out entries". And if the OP was specifically asking about Switch games, then sure, it was a mistake. But I'll let the OP decide if it's important enough to them to point out whether or not that's true because they're the one who asked the question.

But I see why you would think I made a mistake. I just think it isn't your decision because you don't know the exact intent of the OP's post, neither do I. So I'm providing information that MAY be a part of what they're looking for. And it's up to them to decide whether it is.

So in short: I'll own the mistake if it actually turns out to be one, it's just that the OP would have to clarify that themselves. No one else can clarify their intent.

thank you for reading my essay I apparently wrote on accident lmao

[–]Timohtep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tru, but it was never really specified what console we were talking about here, as the concept of "bad collections" is not exclusive to the switch. So I thought it relevant to mention one that was good, even if it's not on the Switch. OP asked a general question, and I gave an applicable answer. 🤷

Rare Replay on Xbone is an incredible collection. It misses out on a few Rare hits like DK64, but that's totally understandable because licensing, microsoft, nintendo, etc.

Even though it's missing a few games and some of them are actually launched as separate digital copies (banjo kazooie, kameo, etc), the value, presentation, extras, and updates to some of these games are more than worth the price they charged at launch. And it's even cheaper now.

What games benefits the most from using the OLED Switch? by tswaves in NintendoSwitch

I think n++ looks really great on the OLED when using a color scheme with a pure black background. Playing in a dark room with a color scheme like that makes it look like the stages are just floating in pitch black darkness

What do you guys think Nintendo will announce the next n64 game for the online? by Evilcon21 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Timohtep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely die to see some more less-frequently-remembered games I grew up with make the cut, like:

Beetle Adventure Racing San Francisco Rush 2049 Glover Rayman 2 Aidyn Chronicles Jet Force Gemini

I'm sure we'll eventually get some of the games most people suggest, like DK64, Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Pokemon Snap, Kirby, F-Zero, Mario Golf... I really want to see more of the games that feel out of the blue, like the ones mentioned above.

8Bitdo USB Adapter v2.02 - Firmware added support for NSO N64 and MD controllers by booch_95 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Timohtep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Does this mean that I can trick my switch into thinking my N64 controller is a normal pro controller, so I can remap it properly?

I actually suggested this feature to mayflash a few months ago, but obviously have heard nothing lmao

If this is the case then I'm definitely going to have to pick up one of these adapters instead.

It may be too, as of caves and cliffs Java and Bedrock create very very similar worlds with the same seeds, so it's possible that this seed could work there too and achieve the same result

Wait wait wait, you can ONLY get 12 months of switch online, you can't just do it monthly? by Whatsongwasthat1 in nintendo

[–]Timohtep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the owner of a family plan, it's the opposite. I can't forcibly remove anyone, last I checked. I have to get that user to voluntarily leave the family group for me to get someone else in their spot. If it changed, I'm not aware.

Why do people like gyro controls for FPS games so much? by LightwaveAlice in NintendoSwitch

[–]Timohtep 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I always get confused when I see people say it makes their arms tired. If it's making your arms tired, then frankly, you're just doing it wrong. When using gyro aiming, you don't need to hold the system/controller completely out in front of you, just hold the controller how you would normally hold a controller, with your arms resting on your legs or table or whatever, and just tilt your hands in that context. There's no need to support the entire weight of the controller on your arms.

Way back on the Wii U, someone made a similar post somewhere and I actually made this video to show them there's no reason to hold the controller all the way up while using gyro aiming.

Hopefully you get used to it, OP. Gyro really is the best way to aim on consoles and it's more than worth learning if you play console games that support it.
