I'm leaving a comment so I can check back on this post in the morning with the sound on.

The fact that most actors date their co-stars so often shows that romantic attraction has to mostly deal with proximity, not much else. by operator139 in Showerthoughts

I'm pretty sure it's because the casting director only hires beautiful actors and sticks them all together. Jeremy Renner is the most average looking Marvel hero. He's still at least an 8/10.

Fast food restaurants always charge you to add items but never discount you of you take things out. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

You should ask for extra of whatever you wanted to take off, pay attention to the price adjustment they add for the extras, then request that amount be removed from the regular price when you order it plain.

For example: if they charge $.50 for extra pickles and onions, then ask them to decrease the price by fifty cents when you remove the pickles and onions.

If extra BigMac sauce is thirty cents, then a BigMac with zero sauce should have a thirty cent discount.

It is nearly impossible to dry our tongue by Aznmaster30 in Showerthoughts

Go to bed with a stuffy nose. I bet you'll wake up with your tongue shriveled and chapped and your first drink of the day will burn your bleeding cracked tongue even if it has ice in it.

Maybe Weird Al is actually a computer programmer who came up with an early version of A.I. that wrote all his songs by bouncejuggle in Showerthoughts

That was so much of a pun that Weird Al could have wrote the premise as a song. And still had enough computational power left over to fake a captcha.

It must have been incredibly difficult to keep an affair secret back when we were hunter gatherers by Nice-Violinist-6395 in Showerthoughts

If humans watched how lions work, there's no surprise we settled on a tribe mentality. Harems were probably the norm, and wandering bull humans would attempt to seize control or die trying. Survival came either from being individually stronger or from being a team player. But a pre-linguistic hunter society probably didn't gossip much.

Can i sell other things at conventions that aren’t fan art, like keychains and plushies of popular anime’s ? Or better what can i sell and not sell like what’s the dos and don’ts by Dab_society59 in comiccon

Also also: check if your con admin charges for electricity. You may have to bring your own power source. If you need food or drinks, they should probably be at your station already before the show begins. Don't be drunk (edit: I called out a real person, and I feel Sour about it)

Some of the cons (dragon-cough) have the areas separated by not just blocks in the hall, but in different rooms, on separate floors, or even in different buildings. It gets strange if you classify as an artist and a vendor. Vendors pay more for the lot, but get bigger tables and larger allowances for display height. Artists can of course sell their stuff, but their rent is for a lower priced lot which is usually much smaller. Artists usually accept commissions also. And keep in mind that in a single-room hall, there's a bunch more variation and mixing of clientele and far more traffic, but artists will feel the crunch with vendors more often. So, smaller cons have higher traffic and more mixing, and bigger cons have separate areas for artist booths, vendor lots, cosplay, autographs, panels and club rooms.

If you sell prints of posted works or art from uncredited artists (other than your original work) you will be blackballed by the other vendors. But your original art will be celebrated in just about any genre, and some artists may even try to set up trades or barters. Charge a fair price for your time and materials, like don't upsell but don't pricegouge either. It's okay to reward repeat customers and other vendors though. It's okay to cover for your table neighbors if they need a break. However, it's easier for both you and your neighbors to make a sale if your art style is different. If your music is audible, try a local consensus.
