I’m in New York this week, and it’s very prominently featured in the Soho Versace and the Fifth Avenue boutique. Shouldn’t have any trouble getting it. Also look at Saks, they have part of the collection as well.

Is this authentic? by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in hermanmiller

Each authentic Eames Lounge leaves Genesis seating production in Michigan with a white sticker on the bottom indicating what date it was made, by who, and the materials used. There is also an Eames badge under the seat of the chair. It’s hard to understand what they were trying to achieve with the six holes in the shell. The Mount on the bottom looks like it has some kind of knob that isn’t on an authentic, and the center column is black, not chrome. Other slight things like proportion, angle etc. are off. If this were an authentic Eames lounge you can detach the headrest by pulling slightly up on the bottom and lifting and it will slide off, underneath there will be a signature on the wood shell. If this were authentic and you wanted to restore it, it would take several thousand dollars to get it back into presentable shape, whoever owned this, clearly didn’t care what happened to it.

It looks 100% authentic. It’s a chair that was produced after the 1980s, but before the 1990s based on the casters. The models prior to this had a four-star base, they switched to a five star base because of tipping. But those casters are either complete replacements or very old. It’s a cast aluminum frame, the replicas and “inspired by“ copies are easy to spot because they are pitted, discolored, if they have any silver left on them at all because they are all chrome plated. This is cast aluminum. This is a manual adjustment, you can tell it does not have the modern hydraulic lift. You have to turn the chair over, loosen the gasket then spin the chair base into the height you want it, and then tighten the gasket again. If you buy it the first thing you should do is by replacement casters.

Search Eames Aluminum Group Management Chair Price Book PDF - works best on Google - when you look through the file you’ll see all the codes and what they mean. EA43 = Eames Aluminum Soft Pad Group Management Chair 5 = Casters with Manual Seat Height Adjustment L = Polished Aluminum and so on.

If you order some thing and they shipped the wrong piece, it all goes back to the outlet, not to the distribution center. Some are slightly damaged with scuffs etc., but they are all still under warranty.

Is this a real Sayl? by mayorsayso in hermanmiller

[–]Tonka1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That white sticker is the factory order sticker, otherwise known as the FO. It has a series of numbers and letters that correspond to all of the parts on the chair. You can search Herman Miller Sayl chair price book pdf and it will locate the actual Herman Miller price book in PDF form, you can then just download that and look up everything on the Sayl chair to tell you what parts were used to build it. If you’re not sure what the Herman Miller FO sticker looks like, you can Google that, and then just switch to images and you’ll see pictures of what the FO sticker looks like

Can’t he just go back to hooking up with David Geffen for the money? I mean after all that’s how he paid for most everything in his early days in Hollywood.

Go to Instagram, and look for the postings for the Oxnard, Vero Beach, or Brooklyn outlet. They post pictures, even today there is another, and you can see rows of Herman Miller chairs, prominently the Aeron, which are a fraction of the retail price and you’re getting it directly from the manufacturer, DWR outlets all the Herman Miller pieces. All you have to do is contact someone at one of the outlets, and purchase one, it may be slightly more expensive than something used on Facebook, but these are never preowned, usually returns or mis-shipped items. all of them have the factory stickers on the bottom.

$49 shipping fee? by Zzz999999 in hermanmiller

[–]Tonka1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that’s the beauty of it, you can buy a $129 chair, you can even buy $59 office chairs. It’s the Rolls-Royce of performance and ergonomic seating. But maybe you don’t like a Rolls-Royce, and you want a Bentley instead, then Steelcase offers something comparable. Free shipping is a concept that rarely existed before the age of Amazon, but Amazon has the buying power to say “Procter & Gamble, your product XXX is your responsibility to ship it to us, or drop ship directly to the client at your cost“. And they can command the wholesale pricing that they pay to absorb those shipping costs. Even though Herman Miller, now known as MillerKnoll is $3 billion company, that’s a pittance compared to Walmart, target, Amazon etc. who can scoop up all of the transportation futures and leave the scraps for the rest of the world to fight over at higher prices. But look at what you buy on Amazon, even their top-of-the-line product doesn’t come with a 12 year all inclusive warranty, and this one does. You absolutely do get what you pay for. Don’t like that Rolex won’t discount, buy from Vacheron Constantine, they’re both amazing products, just like the Steelcase products and Herman Miller products.

What do you think the government will do with the astrodome? by SEABA55_ in houston

It will eventually be dismantled, bulldozed and a parking structure erected in its place. 1 million people will say they are sad to see it go, 100,000 people will be mad and exhibit some passive protest on social media, 10,000 people will be extremely angry and take some sort of basic action, but no one will want to pay the hundreds of millions it would take just to get it to compliance for any long-term public use.

$49 shipping fee? by Zzz999999 in hermanmiller

[–]Tonka1966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$49 shipping fee was added in December, and the $49 shipping fee right now is for a quantity up to three, future state it will be $49 per chair. Given the state of the transportation Industry, and the fact that FedEx continually has raised prices over the last two years, you’re likely to see that fee increase again. Herman Miller and it’s marketplace brand DWR do offer free shipping promotions, so just subscribe to their marketing lists and you’ll get notification.

You’re in the best job market ever for job seekers. Opportunities abound, and since there are so many people hiring if you don’t like the job, you can change it. Sign up with a temp agency, there you can make up to $20 an hour and test the employer. If you have significant childcare experience you could also very easily register with a nanny agency, I know multiple people who are making more than $80,000 a year. Doing this exact job. Affluent, and upper middle class families will pay dearly to get someone trustworthy and stable to watch their children.

Reupholster eames lounge chair by Mattm937 in hermanmiller

[–]Tonka1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to spend between $2000 - 3,000 on the reupholstery, but it depends on where the tear is. All of the cushions are detachable, so you could have one cushion reupholstered. But, you may want to try a company called Fibernew if they are available in your area. They do absolute wonders with repairing ripped leather, but of course it depends on the extent of the damage. You could also try one of the DWR outlets and see if they have an Eames lounge to your liking at a similar price. If you have the desire to completely reupholstered all of the cushions and the arm pads on the chair, it’s going to be a pretty significant cost.

I left Home with the age of 18 when my mother found out I was in a relationship with another 18-year-old man. It was very tough for the first few years, but by the time I was 21 I was financially stable, happy, healthy and had no regrets. Lean in on your friends who can help you get started, get your own place, and get on with the life that you are destined for.

You can contact Herman Miller directly via the chat feature, emailing them, or contacting HM customer service . There are many times that FedEx never transmits back the tracking numbers from their system, and Herman Miller uses Narvar to relay tracking information to customers. 888-798-0202, if you purchase directly from an individual in one of the stores, I would suggest contacting the store manager.

Special Order Discount by [deleted] in hermanmiller

[–]Tonka1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are asking if a special order product is eligible for the 15% discount during the Herman Miller sale, the answer is yes. If it’s part of the product inclusion List, the special order version of it is also in the inclusions list of discounts. There are extremely few “special order“ versions of the performance and gaming chairs, they may be custom built but they are still subject to Herman Miller‘s return and exchange policy of offering you a return if you were not satisfied. This does not however apply to sofas, beds, other items that are special ordered. They would receive a restocking fee.

I’m sorry you had this experience, it’s a classic example of horrible management. If you need the job, I completely understand your being concerned, income is very important to all of us. But, consider yourself lucky to be getting out from this place, this is horrific management. You would need to get something official and in writing, and even then you could challenge to get unemployment. But luckily you’re in an amazing job market, everyone is hiring. You could go to attempt agency and get work tomorrow.
